December 2023 Edition

Give Today

Dear Jes,

The time for nature is now. We're on the countdown to the final few weeks of the year and it's not too late to make a difference. Whether your passion is to protect forests, conserve wetlands, safeguard wildlife corridors or to conserve the natural landscapes of Northern B.C., the Kootenay, or the West Coast, you can have a big impact on B.C.'s wildlife.

Your gift to nature is a powerful investment in protecting nature now and forever. It will help The Nature Trust of BC buy five more ecologically vulnerable properties to protect a combined 475 hectares where wildlife roam, nest and breed.

Every dollar counts. And every dollar will be matched with federal funding, making an even bigger impact for the wildlife counting on us to protect their habitat forever.

There's still time to receive a tax receipt for your 2023 donation. The impact of your gift to nature will make a difference not only today, but will leave a lasting legacy of protecting the beauty and ecology of British Columbia for future generations.

Yours in conservation this festive season,

Dr. Jasper Lament

CEO, Nature Trust of British Columbia

Protect an Essential Wildlife Corridor in the Kootenay

We are excited to announce our newest campaign, Wycliffe Wildlife Corridor - Wycliffe Prairie! We are fundraising to raise the last $300,000 needed to protect 182 hectares (450 acres) of an important wildlife corridor. The area is located between the communities of Kimberly and Cranbrook and is within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa First Nation.

"The ecological diversity of Wycliffe Prairie is spectacular. From grasslands and forests to wetlands, this area provides important habitat for endangered species and iconic mammals, like the Grizzly Bear and Rocky Mountain elk. If we can protect this property, we can increase connectivity for wildlife and support biodiversity in the Kootenay and beyond." says Dr. Jasper Lament, CEO of The Nature Trust of BC.
