In Person Worship Update...
Here are a few reminders for you when coming to worship:

  • Be diligent with the 6 feet social distancing requirements - do not crowd pews. This applies everywhere in the building and in the parking lot.
  • Remember to use the hand sanitizer available in the narthex or pews.
  • Please do not stop in the narthex or inside the sanctuary doors to visit. We would like everyone to have a seat in the sanctuary as quickly as possible when arriving.
  • We ask for your patience with exiting. Please have a seat after the pastor has ended the service and wait for the ushers to dismiss your row. They start at the back of the sanctuary. For everyone’s safety and proper distancing, follow the ushers instructions
When registering for services using FlockNote, please make sure that only one member of your family registersThat way more seats remain available for others to attend. Thanks so much!
In Our Prayers...
Remember: Debbie Faydash, Gib Howell (Jason Kozee's father), and Frank Rauch.

Emmanuel’s Property Committee continues to meet monthly to assess the needs of the church campus and its buildings during the closure and the reopening plans. Many of our projects were put on hold during the closure but we are beginning to plan to reschedule projects. We spent last month working on our budgets and needs assessments for capital improvements to our campus and have submitted them to the Finance Committee for review for the upcoming year. We have reviewed our vendor’s contracts and are working to keep our costs reasonable while providing the services needed to keep our campus and all associated buildings in good repair. Our campus is both a place for worshipping our Lord and providing outreach to our church family and the community at large and we continue to try accomplish those goals in fiscally responsible way.
Blessings,
Lynne Ross and Property Committee

We all know that walking is one of the best things you can do for your health, but how much??? Depends on what your goals are; for better sleep-the more the better…at least 2000 steps above your weekly average. For Alzheimer’s disease, the average of 8900 steps per day showed the greatest benefit of less cognitive decline. Women who walked for at least 40 minutes several times a week had a nearly 25% lower risk of heart failure. Even less than 10 minutes of walking per day helps with joint pain. So put your best foot forward!
In the News...
The office is always trying to keep you informed. Here are a few items for you:

  • The only way we know that someone in our church family is in the hospital and/or in need of prayers etc., is if you call the office and give us the information. We will then forward it to Pastor Hall, Pastor Davis, Barb, and/or the prayer chain.

  • Because of the reduced hours of the office, the deadline for articles for the eNews is Tuesday at 9am.

  • Please remember to wear your name tag to church - sometimes it is hard to tell who is behind that mask! 🙂

  • Please notify the office of any address, email, phone number, etc. changes you have made so our records are up-to-date. We try to keep our church database and mobile directory current. It is the best source for member information. If you do not have the link to the mobile directory, email the office and we will send you the instructions and password.

Current Collections
DORCAS continues to make quilts, but since the church was shut down for 6 months, we have not received anything in our barrel. We are OK with the tops, but we definitely need sheets, all sizes, flat, fitted, and any color for the backs. Sheets must be clean and in good condition.

Sheets may be dropped off on the bench outside the office during business hours or placed in the bin in the Narthex when you come to worship.

Thanks for all your support of this ministry.
The time for collecting annual Blessing Bag Donations from our congregation has arrived. The two collection weekends are October 24/25 and October 31/November 1.

These bags are assembled for Coffee Talk and The Center Of Hope. The past 2 years we filled over 100 bags, and the need is even greater this year. A list for suggested donations is available on the Narthex Table including personal necessities, dark washcloths & socks & non perishable individually wrapped food. (No beverages & no chocolate bars or soft candies). Click Here for a checklist.
Family Promise Dream Walk
Family Promise of South Sarasota County will be holding their 4th Annual Dream Walk "Virtually" on November 7th, 2020. Even though Venice is not allowing events to take place, local families need your help now more that ever!

Please go to www.familypromisessc.org/dream-walk to register and create your own fundraising page and for more information about the walk. The need is dire.
