Weekly Spotlight
The doors may be closed but “The Church” is open and working to support our community. Emmanuel Outreach Committee continues to be blessed by the congregational support of our many Outreach Ministries . This month's emphasis is Big Brothers Big Sisters (see below) and the month of August will be Disabled American Veterans (DAV ). Your support for these ministries is crucial so please be sure to include your support when you send in your monthly donations to Emmanuel. Use your envelope or email and be sure to check the Outreach Ministry with your donation.

The suspension of the Fellowship and Friendship Meals has provided a rare opportunity to Clean-Up-Clear-Out the refrigerator and the freezers. General health and safety food recommendations state six months for freezer food and follow expiration guidelines. We will be purchasing all new products when we begin these wonderful programs again.

Thank You for your generous donations:
In May Emmanuel donated $5,573 to South County Food Bank
In June donated $2,549 to Pregnancy Solutions

Emmanuel’s 2020 Pandemic Cookbook
One thing that we have all done well during this COVID-19 pandemic is EAT! The Fellowship Committee would like to assemble a cookbook so we can share some of the recipes that have given us comfort and joy during our safe-at-home time.

We have opened a website for the members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. To get to this website, click on the logo with this article. The account name is Emmanuel and the Password is 3675272. Then 1)click on "Recipe Center", 2)click on “Add a New Recipe” and type your recipe in the proper category.

If you are not able to enter your recipe via the computer, you may call our Editor, Vicki Frederiksen at 847-975-0198 and she will enter it for you.
We will keep the website open until the end of September in order to have the cookbooks available for Christmas gifting! If you have any questions, call Vicki Frederiksen or Pat Crary at 920-246-9086.

Stewardship Emphasis for July
Building and Grounds (Property)

The purpose of this committee is to encourage and support the individuals and teams that maintain the church building, grounds, and equipment. The duties of the committee include but are not limited to maintenance, capital improvements and replacement projects. If you would like to volunteer to help get the building ready to reopen or with any of the above, contact Lynne Ross.
Outreach Emphasis for July
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast
Our young people bear some of the heaviest burdens of trauma and economic fallout, facing increased anxiety, stress and fear. BBBS’s face to face contact has changed, however their impact is still strong. Everyone has risen to the challenges in today’s environment with flexibility, resilience, compassion and courage. BBBS has gone virtual with matching children, taught the “Littles” and families cyber safety courses; taught virtual enrichment courses for the “Bigs”. Isn’t it amazing when doing God’s work, we can get great things accomplished?
In Our Prayers...
Remember: Judy Price Arnett, Dennis Fales, Dorothy Gula, Dick Quinn, and Bill Schnittker.

We offer our sympathies to: Helen Woodward, her family and friends as they mourn the death of Paul (Woody) on Thursday, July 2nd and also to Jackie Miller, her family and friends as they mourn the death of Bob on Friday, July 3rd.
