FROM THE CHAIR
Get Out and Vote!
Rachel Bardis 2018 Chairwoman
Did you know that in a midterm election year there are 20 percent less voters than during a presidential election year?  Here in the Sacramento region, this midterm election is an important one.  The local government elections will shape the building industry for years to come.

The BIA Government Affairs team and our Political Action Committee work throughout the year to build good relationships with all elected officials in our area.  There are so many great candidates out there and we need to show them our support this election season.

Months ago, the PAC and the Government Affairs team began the long process of interviewing candidates, asking them the tough questions on policies and needs in our region to ensure that they endorsed candidates that understood the housing crisis and the need to streamline building processes. Now, it is time for us to support the hard work that they have done.

We are all invested in the building industry's success.  The best way to support our community right now is to go out and vote! Vote for the candidates who support our industry and the need for streamlining building processes.  Act to ensure that we are able to continue to build the badly needed homes in our region.

As we have all seen over the past ten years, regulations are getting worse.  All of the work that our Government Affairs team does is made so much easier when we elect business-minded people in office. See the full list of BIA endorsed candidates below and please, go out and vote this election season, our future depends on it!
