Happy Birthday Canada!
Canada celebrates independence from Britain on July 1st, 1867. Festivities assumed across this spectacular country we are lucky to be part of. Especially the celebrations across the City of Vaughan namely; The Royal Canadian Legion , Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women , Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at and the City of Vaughan 's massive celebration at the North Maple Regional Park. Wishing you and your family pride and diversity.

Golf 2 Remember Tournament 2019, supporting the Alzheimer Society of York Region & Alzheimer Society of Toronto takes place Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Silver Lakes Golf Club. Registration is $170 and includes a golfer lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, contests, dinner, prizes, raffles and a silent auction. Dinner only support is $50.
Join Brighter Path for Autism for their summer event fundraiser this summer. B righter Path 4 Autism is a registered charity that is dedicated to bringing awareness and raising funds for children and their families that have not been granted government funding. These funds help cover the cost of Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) therapy. A great day out with fun, family and fundraising.  
Join the Fuerza Latina Community Services on July 13th for their annual Latin Festival. Fuerza Latina is a leading provider for youth and families dedicated to empower and promote sports, culture in and around Vaughan. Everyone is welcome to attend. 
Join the Ride on Sunday July 7th. They are revved up for SickKids and cannot wait to hit the open road.
Now in its 8 th  year, the annual REV IT UP For SickKids will once again put the pedal to the metal and get on the road for a great cause. A truly remarkable experience is in store for our Ride Route.

M ajor Mackenzie Road Closure from June 17 to Aug. 30
 
York Region will be performing work on Major Mackenzie Drive West from Avro/McNaughton roads to St. David’s Parish from Monday, June 17 to Friday, Aug. 30. Major Mackenzie Drive temporary road closure between Highway 27 and St. Padre Pio Gardens/Sonoma Heights Park
The Regional Municipality of York is making improvements and widening Major Mackenzie Drive to six lanes from Highway 50 to Highway 400 in the City of Vaughan.
In order to raise and connect Major Mackenzie at Highway 27, Major Mackenzie Drive between Highway 27 and St. Padre Pio Gardens/Sonoma Heights Park is scheduled to be closed from Friday, July 5, 2019 at 9 p.m. to Monday, July 8, 2019 at 5 a.m. Access to St. Padre Pio Gardens and Sonoma Heights Park will be maintained. Northbound and southbound traffic on Highway 27 and Islington Avenue will not be affected.

Keep Your Pets Safe in the Heat

Please remember that vehicles can quickly reach deadly temperatures, even on mild days while parked in the shade with the windows slightly open. Do your part to keep pets out of hot vehicles and save lives. Keep them safe, leave them at home.
