Let's Kick the Year Off Right!
Michael Strech President and CEO
We have wrapped up 2018 with another successful year here at the BIA --Rachel Bardis was a powerful leader, we increased educational workshops and events and spearheaded political initiatives that will enhance the future of our industry. Now, we move forward to 2019, and the possibilities of a new year.
The beginning of the year sets the tone for what's to come and our first major event is right around the corner. The Installation of Officers is an evening when our Board of Directors will be taking oath of office and we will be recognizing the Board Members who will depart from their leadership roles.  We will also be honoring our 2018 Award Recipients, who are the following:
  • Chair's Award - Nikky Mohanna, M.H. Mohanna Development Company
  • President's Award - Andy Davidson, Anton Development Company
  • Meritorious Award - Mo Rahim, Taylor Morrison
  • Friend of Housing - Assemblymember Jim Cooper
In particular this night will also highlight Rachel Bardis stepping down as our 2018 Chair and Phil Rodriguez with Lewis Planned Communities taking his oath of office as our 2019 Chair of the Board of Directors.  Installation is an important evening to show the support for the industry, and the leaders that will be guiding the association for the next year and more.
This is also a grand evening of celebration and camaraderie.  We expect about 400 industry professionals to be in attendance.  Click here for pictures from last year's event.

Let's start this year off right by making Installation our best event of the year. If you haven't registered yet, I encourage you to do so and come celebrate your new Board of Directors.

A Great Beginning for 2019!
HomeAid Sacramento is thrilled to be the recipient of a grant from the Teichert Foundation! The funds we received will help us begin adding a first floor ADA compliant shower/bathroom for Maryhouse (Sacramento Loaves and Fishes).  We're teaming up with The New Home Company and BSB Design to make this project happen.  We can't say enough about Teichert's commitment to help individuals experiencing homelessness.

The Teichert Foundation represents their  company's commitment to build and preserve a healthy and prosperous region.  The Foundation focuses on awarding grants to organizations that create beauty, foster culture, nurture children, provide access to food and housing for those in need; while also preserving nature, increasing awareness of our environment, building an educated citizenry and a well-prepared workforce, and striving  to provide better health for all.
