Ignite
Come Be Ignited - Sundays at 9 AM
Come Be Ignited - Sundays at 9:00
After Jesus rose, he told his followers, "You shall be my witnesses... but wait until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:48-49) Several days later, on Pentecost, he did just that: he sent the fiery presence of the Holy Spirit upon them and empowered them to continue his ministry. (Acts 2:1-4)
For several months now the Lord has been Igniting us in the Spirit's fire here at St. Giles. During the weeks of Ignite we will focus on what God is doing, so that we can be fully responsive to whatever means of igniting he uses.
Ignite Has Three Components:
Class:
Keith is teaching on Sundays from 9-10 AM. We are video-recording these classes so that those who miss can take advantage too.
Life Groups:
Each week Life Groups will discuss and put into practice what we are learning.
Conferences:
One factor God is using in his Igniting work here is the ministry of Global Awakening. Several of us have been to their conferences, and in August we hosted their leader, Randy Clark. During Ignite there are two Global Awakening conferences to which Keith will lead a St. Giles delegation.
God has good gifts for us in this season, and the best way to receive is to join in all three parts of Ignite!

LIFEGROUP ON A MISSION
We have a Life Group on a Mission! Our Sunday morning Life Group found a way to care for some folks with extra needs this Thanksgiving. Below are some pictures of Susan Andrews and her daughter, Elizabeth Teixeira, delivering the bounty.
Thanks for leading the way, Life Group friends. And thanks for blessing some people the Lord loves very much.

CARITAS NEEDS Co-Leaders for 2017
CARITAS has been a very effective ministry at St. Giles, taking turns along with other RVA churches, to provide the homeless community with a warm place to sleep, good food, clean clothes and hot showers one week annually.
Rob and Lyn Westerman have faithfully led and expanded the
CARITAS ministry for several years. The entire church family has come alongside Rob and Lyn each year to serve the most needy in our community and to share the LOVE of JESUS through our St. Giles Hospitality.
This year the Westermans are seeking
"LEADERSHIP HELP" to serve as Co-Leaders the week of February 11-18, 2017.
The intent is to train new leaders and turn over primary leadership to the co-leader in 2018.
If you have the kind of compassion that enjoys serving those less fortunate and have a heart for blessing the community, please consider joining Rob and Lynn as Co-Leaders the week of February 11-18. They look forward to working with a new Leadershp team, joined by the many volunteers from the St. Giles family.
For questions or more information, please contact Rob and Lyn directly at 274-9164 or 726-0326.
Please prayerfully consider if this is God's call for YOU!

Last Week to be a
Thanksgiving Blessing
for the
Children's Garden Preschool's
One way to be a blessing this Thanksgiving season is to make a donation to the Children's Garden Preschool. Their Goal is $25,000 for Playground Equipment. The preschool playground is visited by moms and children of our Glenburnie neighborhood and is a great way to bless St. Giles children, as well as the preschoolers.
In the hallway across from Common Grounds is the Preschool Bulletin Board featuring the "Pick a Number Thanks and Giving Tree FUNdraiser".
This is a "FUN"draiser EVERYONE can get involved in!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
