Join us for a whirlwind of an event featuring StormTracker Amy Castor on Friday, November 28. A wife and mother of 6, Amy will take us on a journey, sharing insights into her everyday life and how she manages her work life balance. Amy Castor was raised in Mangum,OK where her love of weather began. Having an interest in computers and engineering, she chose Oklahoma State University and majored in Electrical Engineering Technology with a minor in Computer Science. In 1998, while planning her weather-related senior project, she met her husband, Val Castor, Senior StormTracker for NEWS 9; she was also hired as a StormTracker that same year. The two teamed up both professionally and personally and together have reported and filmed over 500 tornadoes. The two currently reside here in Stillwater with their children. Amy is a home-school mom when she is not chasing storms and is an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Stillwater.
