Message from your Chapter President, Scott Tibbo
Hello all members, sponsors and friends of the CoreNet Global CT Westchester Chapter.  I hope your summer is going well and everyone is happy and healthy despite all that is going around us here in the region and around the world. Please be safe.
I want to start out by sharing thanks and gratitude for the fun-filled CoreNet CT/WC annual golf tournament held on August 16th at the beautiful New Haven Country Club.  It was such a spectacular day weather-wise, we had great attendance, strong levels of sponsorship and the $2,000 donation made to The Village (non-profit organization) thanks to the raffle tickets, cannon shoot and auction was more than we raised at the last tournament held two years ago.  Special thanks again to Terri Frink and the entire Special Events committee which consisted of Rick Berry, Gene Goddard, Melissa Kalinowski, Jon Putnam, Rita Joy, Fury Sabato and Deb Seay. We have already placed our reservation for next year’s golf outing at New Haven Country Club once again as it is such a great venue and course!
Coming up in September we have an outstanding program scheduled for Sept 22nd. Please plan to join us for a panel discussion focused on Westchester County. Our panelists will share insights from their diverse portfolio of users that include bioscience, higher education and corporate. The industry experts will explore what makes Westchester County so unique in their reaction to pandemic challenges and will delve into their predictions of what these recent changes will lead to in the future.
We are also thrilled to see the traction around our chapter’s Young Leaders programs and engagement of a diverse group of young leaders/young professionals from across the region with our next program coming up on Sept 30th, an in-person event to be held at Elicit Brewing in Manchester. This is a joint-event between our CT/WC Young Leaders program and the Young Professionals Council associated with the Construction Institute. Please plan to attend as this event is open to ALL ages and it is important for us more “seasoned” professionals to be in attendance to meet and share experiences with these young professionals!
As a follow up to the powerful presentation and discussion on diversity, equity and inclusion led by expert Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler on August 3rd our CT/WC chapter, in collaboration with the CoreNet New England Chapter are working to schedule a follow on discussion with Dr. Dr. Mosby Tyler to be held in December so please watch for information on that important program.
There are additional programs underway for the remainder of this year including our year-end gala so please all stay connected and look for opportunities to get engaged personally – and to invite others from our industry or from outside of our industry to consider joining CoreNet Global and our CT/Westchester Chapter.

Lastly, and very important please all consider registering and attending the CoreNet Global – North America Summit to be held in Seattle, WA November 7-9.  Great programs, learning events, networking sessions, the annual awards Gala and so much more. See information below on how to sign-up for the Summit. I hope to see you there!
Thanks again all for your continued support and involvement in our Chapter. Have a great September!

Be well. Stay Safe. Stay Connected.

The Future Of Business Will Be Shaped By The Future Of Talent
Frank Sorrentino, Forbes
Over the last year and a half, we’ve witnessed sweeping and widespread changes to the nature of work as well as the workplace itself. The most obvious and immediate of these include the overnight switch to remote working for many employees across the country.

The longer-term shifts could consist of the evaluation of the future state of work and the ways companies choose to operate day to day. It’s clear that the ways in which we work and collaborate continue to evolve.
A Conversation About Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler

If you were not able to attend our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion program with Dr. Dwinita Mosby on Tuesday, August 3rd, we are happy to share the recording.

This motivating program explores the many benefits and complexities of advancing diversity, equity and inclusivity. The keynote takes us from concepts to actions in a way that honors the benefits to both you and your business. Finally the session recording also includes an interactive Q&A with attendees where Dr. Dwinita addresses common barriers to change, and how to overcome those obstacles.

Featured Young Leader
Meet our CoreNet Global Connecticut/ Westchester Chapter Young Leaders!

This month we are featuring Tim Johnson. Tim has been actively involved with CoreNet since 2019 and recently made a big career move to JLL's Office Tenant Representative Team as an Associate Broker. He joins JLL with over five years of experience representing clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. His new role will have a strong focus on business development and transaction management.

When asked what excited him most about joining the JLL team, Tim referred to JLL’s reputation as a world-class organization in the commercial real estate industry. He’s excited about the growth opportunities that JLL presents and the professionalism of the people within the organization. Tim’s long-term goals include continuing to build his reputation and brand in the Stamford, Greenwich, and Westchester areas and moving up within JLL. He also hopes to do more work with multi-market transactions as well. Tim gives credit to CoreNet for many of the professional relationships he has built over the past two years and is excited to continue his engagement with the chapter.

In his leisure time, Tim enjoys running, camping, hiking, biking, spending time with friends and family, and playing in a men’s ice hockey league.
