In commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King's Day: Reflections on an Ecumenical Civil Rights Pilgrimage

On Sunday, January 19th, three St. Barnabas' members, Craig Brosi, Maria Perez Monzon, and Sheridan Quarless Kingsberry, will share reflections on their recent Ecumenical Pilgrimage to Montgomery and Selma, Alabama. The forum, sponsored by the Becoming Beloved Community Ministry, will take place immediately after service during a special coffee hour. Members who are not able to attend church on Sunday, January 19th may participate via Zoom.  After reflections, congregants will have an opportunity to ask questions in person and through the chat on the Zoom platform. To see a previously published copy of the pilgrimage booklet by Cynde Bimbi, Director of Communications, Episcopal Church in Delaware, with our star Craig Brosi on the cover, please click this link: you can view it here.

To participate in the BBC Forum via Zoom please use the Zoom link below to sign-in at 11:30 a.m.

Diocesan Book Study in the Season of Epiphany

Let’s participate in this statewide study!

The Racial Justice and Reconciliation Commission has selected the book We Survived the End of the World: Lessons from Native America on Apocalypse and Hope to read throughout the diocese during the Epiphany Season. The author Steven Charleston is an Episcopal Bishop and a member of the Choctaw Nation.

Bishop Brown will offer this book for his annual online book study on Tuesday nights starting January 14 through February 25, 2025.

A display copy of the book and a signup sheet will be in the back of our church. You will receive a zoom link notification closer to the start date. We suggest you purchase/order your book from your favorite local bookstore, or use this bookshop link

St. Barnabas Parish Life

Parish Life held a welcome gathering for Rev. Jeanie after her first sermon at St. Barnabas on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Rev. Jeanie was welcomed with homemade scones, a delicious lemon cake, a maple pecan cheesecake, meringues (not homemade).

Parishioners also put together a "Delaware" basket filled with thoughtful gifts to acclimate one to this area, along with a handmade lighted Christmas vase, along with a chalkboard cat. Rev. Jeanie has 2 cats, Obsidian and Chimp. Their names and backstories are very interesting.

A great time was had by all and once again, welcome Reverend Jeanie! See below for pictures provided by Robin Buckley-Baird
