July 2023 | Issue 41
Message from your Chapter President, Rebecca Nolan
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. Coming together with family and friends reminds me how vital relationships are from personal perspectives as well as our professional associations. Staying in touch drives us to look for opportunities in the future.

As we start the second half of 2023, I wanted to provide a snapshot for the last FY…membership retention was a high 72.5%, the Chapter was recognized as a top performer by Global; new members represent 28% and end user where at 27%. The Chapter was also a top performer in converting the 30-day trial members into full active members.

Programs continue to drive our success. As we begin the discussion for the future, we are looking to implement a solid strategy. Programs have been accelerating discussions on office uses. End users are working on new formulating strategies. Who knows if upgrading space is the right strategy, but it also may be determined by industry e.g., legal firms, banking etc. Is 50% of time spent at the office and the other 50% in another location the right formula? Some say that is how physical space is being used. Real estate is being modified to fit the right strategy. Community is also a driver for the strategy… has office culture changed with real estate modifications? I say yes, hybrid solutions have changed the way we interact with colleagues. All these questions are being analyzed to make appropriate solutions for executive management teams navigating the future of their industries.
Let’s continue the conversation while going out to play some golf. Looking forward to August 14th we will have our next opportunity to come together at the annual golf tournament. Back to the New Haven County Club members will have time to reconnect, meet new people and as always reestablish relationships with clients and colleagues. To see our sponsorship opportunities, please see the sponsorship prospectus. If you would like to sign up to play, please visit the golf outing registration page here.

Enjoy the rest of July and I hope to see you in August for some golf!

Until next month…Make a Difference
Chapter Events
CoreNet Global CT/Westchester has been busy planning in person chapter events with valuable content at desirable locations with lots of networking opportunities. Like many other professional member associations, charging for events took a back seat during the pandemic. With events in full swing, we return to the general practice of charging for events. Please remember, if your company is a sponsor you have benefits regarding event registration. If you have questions on these benefits, please reach out to Megan Parsons. We look forward to seeing you in person at our next event!

CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
ON THE MOVE
July 2023
Florida, Texas, and Arizona are among the states increasing the number of corporate headquarters that are based there, according to a new study from Hire A Helper based on Securities and Exchange Commission findings that was reported in the World Property Journal.

“About 9% of corporations in the United States moved their headquarters within the past fiscal year — the highest percentage since 2017,” the article reported…”States like New York and cities like Seattle are seeing corporate headquarters move away, while smaller cities outside large urban centers are becoming new homes to big companies in tech and pharmaceuticals.”

Scott Kosswig
"I started my career 17 years ago at Stanley Works (prior to becoming Stanley Black & Decker) and attended a few networking events and a golf tournament the first year I joined the organization. I immediately felt welcomed into the organization and my company fully supported my engagement, in fact, they encouraged it. Dan Elman was the executive director at the time and would often reach out to try to encourage me to attend events. I always felt welcome and knew this was the crew I wanted to be associated with."
