St. Barnabas Activities Resume for the Fall!

  • It is time to think about Sunday School and child care. We need your support to make these important ministries happen at St. Barnabas. If you or some one you know is interested in a paid position as a nursery attendant, or if you are interested in joining a rotation of volunteer Sunday School teachers, please contact Cathy Cooling at cathy@chmsde.org. • Mark your calendars for Blessing of the Animals on October 6 at 10:00 a.m.

Update from the Vestry

The Vestry will meet on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to all. The diocese posted the St. Barnabas’ Interim Priest search profile to all Diocesan Resource Managers across the US. and is currently reviewing and vetting the applications. This could delay the process a bit, but vetting applicants is important and we are prepared to handle a delay if one occurs

The Vestry is here to help. If you have specific questions, or concerns, or would like any details, please contact any vestry member. See the last page of the bulletin for a listing of all your vestry members. You can also call Jay Strong, Jr. Warden at 302-668-7252 (Cell) or Jack Weir, Sr. Warden at 302-743-9890 (Cell).

Christian Education Opportunity

We are hoping to provide both child care and Sunday School as an option for families on a weekly basis. To do this, we need your help. If you or someone you know is interested in a paid position as a nursery attendant from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings, please contact us. We are also setting up a rotation of volunteers to teach Sunday School. With only 4 volunteers, we can have a weekly program with each person only serving once per month. If we have more volunteers, the time commitment is even less. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Cathy Cooling, Libby Green or Janice Itzel. Thank you!

Concert Cancelled: Due to a change in planned Diocesan events, the Spencer LaJoye Concert on September 22  at St. Barnabas, regrettably will not be possible.

St. Barnabas Outreach in Action!

Community Table

Our Christmas Bazaar provides outreach monies to Table of Plenty, allowing fresh produce to be provided to working families in a 4.4-mile radius of St. Barnabas’, that need a little bit of help. We are one of 4 parishes in the community that work with Table of Plenty Outreach, but the only parish that provides fresh produce. We are looking forward to having a great Christmas Bazaar 2024 so we can provide even more fresh produce to those who would not have access to healthy, nutritious food!
