Earlier this month, Nassau and Suffolk-based lawyers, judges, business owners, and community members gathered at the Suffolk County Bar Association (SCBA) for the 7th Annual  Cohalan Cares for Kids event. Together they raised over $28,000 in support of our Suffolk County Children’s Center at Cohalan Court , which provides a safe space where children engage in fun and educational activities while their parents or guardians attend to court business.

EAC Network Staff Get Into the St. Patrick's Day Spirit!
We hope you had a fun and festive St. Patrick's Day! Staff at our 60 Plant Avenue office in Hauppauge got into the spirit by wearing their best green outfits! Our 60 Plant location houses programs like Alternatives for Youth (AFY), which diverts PINS (persons in need of supervision) youth from the juvenile justice system and improves family functioning through home-based crisis intervention and community resources and Community Service , which provides constructive and proactive opportunities for individuals to make reparations for their low-level crimes as an alternative to incarceration.
Our In-Home Respite Services program recently hosted another Memory Cafe for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers. It was a fun gathering with music, food, and dancing! We send special thanks to AARP volunteers who chatted with the seniors and helped the event run smoothly. For more information on future Memory Cafes or how the In-Home Respite Services program can relieve you or your caregiver, call Christine at (516) 539-0150 x218 or email christine.weber@eac-network.org . Last month, our Hempstead and Port Washington Senior Community Service Centers gathered for a huge Valentine's Day celebration! The seniors had a great time dancing, enjoying cake, posing for photos at a photo booth, and getting creative making crafts. The day was all thanks to NPD Group , who not only sponsored the party, but also participated in the event as well. "Thanks again for welcoming us to work with your organization and participate in such a lovely event. It's great to know that such terrific programs are available to our community's seniors," said an NPD team member. View more photos here .
EAC Network's Long Island Dispute Resolution Center (LIDRC) recently hosted its annual Volunteer Luncheon to thank the program's volunteer mediators for their dedication and hard work, some of whom have been volunteering as mediators for 20+ years! The volunteers enjoyed lunch at Ciro's in Hauppauge, mingled with LIRDC staff, and were thanked by EAC Network President & CEO, Lance W. Elder. View more photos here .
