Our children in foster care n eed YOUR help!

Did you know there are approximately 1,200 children in foster care on Long Island? On average, children may be in the system for more than two years and often experience the trauma of multiple placements and a lack of necessary supportive services.

Our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program provides Family Court with trained volunteer advocates who investigate, monitor, and report on the status of individual children in foster care to ensure they are receiving proper services, with the ultimate goal to find them permanent homes.

Learn more below.
Unfortunately, funding was recently cut for our CASA program and next year’s funding amount is uncertain. We’re reaching out to our community for immediate help. We’re hoping we can find 100 community members (and/or companies) who care to help us keep CASA running by donating:
  • $100 ($10,000 needed for the current fiscal year only); or
  • $250 ($25,000 needed for the current and subsequent fiscal years combined)

But of course, any amount helps!  And as a token of our thanks, all donors to CASA will be recognized on the program's webpage here

Your 100% tax deductible donation means our CASA children will be able to continue to:
  • have a consistent adult presence and do better in school
  • receive medical, dental, psychological, and special education services
  • achieve permanency

Please be sure you specify your gift to a "Specific Program" and enter "CASA."

This time, representatives from PSEG Long Island came out to distribute fresh produce to at-risk seniors in New Cassel. The volunteers expressed how fun it was to work one-on-one with the seniors and felt that the program was very impactful to help seniors get the nutritious food they need. View photos.

Get to know EAC Network's Development & Marketing Assistant, Sarah Muller, in this week's Staff Spotlight! "It’s funny, I never went to school for marketing, but I’ve always been interested in it. As a kid I used to make up commercials. I guess that’s why I chose it, but why I stay is because of the nature of the work. I’m not selling some product—I’m raising money to make a difference in someone’s life. That’s powerful." Read more.
