JEANS MINISTRY

Mafair is partnering with St. Matthew and Emory to collect jeans to be given to children and youth throughout the year. If you have any gently worn or new jeans that you would like to donate, please drop them off in the labeled container in the Linen Closet on the main floor. Questions? See Kimberly Wellman.

CARE PORTAL

CarePortal is an online platform that connects local churches and communities with children and families in crisis by linking them to urgent needs in real-time. It acts as a technology bridge for social workers and other professionals to submit requests for things like food, housing, or medical care, which are then distributed to a network of local responders to provide direct support and prevent children from entering the foster care system. Visit the CarePortal page on our church website https://mafairumc.org/careportal for more information.

LONGEST NIGHT SERVICE

On Sunday, December 21 at 7:00pm, we will gather in the sanctuary for our Longest Night service—a quiet space for anyone who finds this season heavy or complicated. This time of worship offers room to acknowledge grief, remember loved ones, and rest in God’s presence. During the service, you’ll have the opportunity to light a candle in memory of someone you’re carrying in your heart. The choir will share special music, and Pastor Tim will offer a brief message of comfort and hope. All are welcome. Nursery care will be provided.

CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

On Wednesday, December 24 at 8:00pm, we will gather in the sanctuary for our candlelight Christmas Eve service, a time to hear the familiar story, sing together, and welcome the light of Christ into the night. Nursery care will be provided.

Before the service, we will have a time of Finger Foods and Fellowship starting at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite finger foods to share.

TWELFTH NIGHT CANTATA

LOVE OFFERING FOR KRISTEN

As we shared with you a few weeks ago, Kristen Marian will be stepping back from her role as Music Director in January, and while we are sad to see her transition, we are so grateful that she will continue to be a cherished member of our Mafair family! To honor Kristen and show our appreciation for her incredible contributions over the past six years, we invite you to participate in a heartfelt love offering. Your gifts can be left in the church office.

Please remember that love offerings should be in the form of cash or checks made out directly to Kristen, not the church. This way, your kindness remains a personal gift and won’t be reported as taxable income.

Let's come together as a community to celebrate Kristen's impact on our lives and show her how much she means to us. Thank you for your love and support during this transition—together, we can make this a memorable farewell while continuing to nurture the wonderful relationships that make Mafair so special!

Sunday, December 28, is the deadline for 2025 contributions. Any contributions received after noon that Sunday will be put toward 2026. The church office will be closed starting on Christmas Eve, reopening on Monday, January 5.
