The Road Less Traveled
Sigh. Another week. Another deluge of people behaving badly. It's become almost a daily guarantee that we'll see at least one story that makes us shake our heads and wonder when it was that incivility became the norm in our society. Just this week you had the woman ...

Children's Pew Bibles
AUMC Children's Ministry has plans to place Children's Bibles in the pews throughout the Sanctuary.  The cost for each Bible is $20. We believe that cultivating a love for the Bible in our children is important.  If you think it's important, too, and would like to be a part of it, you can sponsor one or several of these Bibles.  Visit the Connection Center to make your donation.
Lord's Acre
Saturday, October 6
Vendors are needed for our annual Lord's Acre Fall Festival. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in being a vendor, applications are available on the church website. Crafts, gifts, clothing, toys, books, jewelry...all are welcome to apply! Early registration ends August 1st.
Love With Gratitude
Please enjoy one of the many letters received from a client to her Senior High Mission Trip work team:
Dear Team,

I was so excited to meet the Team when you came to Albuquerque, New Mexico!  The calendar was marked, then the day finally arrived.  It was truly the most blessed week of my WHOLE LIFE living in this house, having some lovely folks working here so diligently and with such passion for the Lord....

VBS Decorating
If you have not been able to help with VBS, then Saturday, July 7 would be a great opportunity!  We will be setting up and decorating the church for VBS from 9am-2pm.  We hope to see you there!

VBS Volunteers Needed
We are still in need of Crew Leaders for MORNING VBS.   Crew leaders are with the children during opening and closing and take the kids to each of their stations. Witnessing the excitement of the kids as they learn more about God's love for them is such an amazing experience.  If you are interested in joining in the fun, you can sign up at here.  Please feel free to contact Jennifer McDaniel if you have any questions.

Manna Room Items Needed
Every week, our Manna Room provides food for families in need in our community. We are currently running low on the following items:
  • Beef stew
  • Ravioli or canned pasta
  • Muffin mixes
  • Jelly/jam
  • Peanut Butter
Thank you for your faithfulness in helping feed our hungry neighbors!

On the Go Devo

Sometimes life keeps you away from church on Sunday, but that doesn't mean you have to miss out.  Our weekly ON THE GO DEVO keeps you talking about what your church family is talking about, even if you can't be here.  You can subscribe to have the DEVO delivered to your mobile device each week by texting ONTHEGO to 68398.

Are you taking advantage of electronic giving?
When we join the church, we pledge to support the life and ministry of the church with our financial gifts. That can get complicated on those weeks when we can't be here as the offering plate comes around. But through electronic giving, you remain faithful to your membership vows, even on those weeks when life takes you elsewhere. It's easy. It's safe. And it benefits both you and your church family. Setting it up is easy and only takes a few minutes. Contact Shari Birchell at sharibirchell@aledoumc.org to set up an automatic transfer from your checking account. Or go to aledoumc.org/give to use your credit or debit card.
