The vote on rent control is just a week away, on Tuesday, November 2, which means the Sensible Housing Ballot Committee (SHBC) is making its final push to persuade and turn out voters against ballot question number 1.
The SHBC is organizing Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts and are respectfully requesting volunteers to help. There are three ways you can help get out the vote this week:
- Online phone banking starting Wednesday, October 27 through Tuesday, November 2. Volunteers would receive a generic login to call voters from their home or wherever is most convenient. Volunteers will be given scripts to read for the calls.
- Boots on the ground. Volunteers would drop literature at people’s doors.
- Organized Canvass on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and/or Monday, which would be conversations with voters.
It is as important as ever that we put the time and effort into reaching out to our fellow citizens and educate them about the pitfalls of rent control. Please consider taking the time to volunteer to help defeat rent control in Saint Paul.
