November Communion & Mission Focus
Grace Place

Grace Place is a mission church chartered through the United Methodist Congregations. It is located in the Women’s State Prison located in Henning, TN. Rev. Diane Harrison is the pastor.

Grace Place UMC functions like any other congregation enjoying worship, choir practice, study groups, book club, crochet group, and exercise classes. The congregation is active through mission and outreach inside and outside the prison. In the course of a week, over 120 women participate in the ministries offered through Grace Place!

In Rev. Diane Harrison’s office, a shop is located at 2786 Stage Center Drive in Bartlett, where one can purchase beautiful lovingly crocheted items personally made by the women in the Grace Place congregation. All the proceeds of the items purchased go to missions supported by Grace Place UMC.

Prayerfully consider supporting the members of Grace Place. Your loving donation will help support the women and missions of Grace Place UMC.

Children's Ministry Fundraiser Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 9 @ 9 am, open to all. $10/per person, 4 & under eat free. We will be in the Smith Covenant Center Cafe (next to the gym).

Service Opportunity:
Bless families of
children with special needs!

On Friday, December 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., SRVS is having a special parents’ night out at Covenant UMC, which allows them to have some quiet time, go out to dinner, or get some Christmas shopping done. Santa will be arriving to visit the children during that time. We will take each child's picture with Santa; the children will eat a snack and open a gift
from Santa.
SRVS has Developmental Therapists volunteering who are CPR/First Aid Certified, and Dinah Montague, the SRVS Kids Early Intervention Director and a registered nurse, will be volunteering that night as well. The children will bring their own snacks that will be labeled due to allergies and the goal is to take each child's picture with Santa to provide the parents or caregivers the picture as a keepsake.

We have the opportunity for about 10 people from Covenant UMC to volunteer their time and energy to assist the SRVS staff on this evening to assist with the pictures and keepsakes. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with some very precious children of God (ages 0-5) and provide a gift to their parents in the form of a keepsake and a couple of hours to catch their breath.

If you and or your Sunday School class or group, would be interested in giving of your time to touch the lives of these families, please email Jennifer Cavitt at Jennifer.Cavitt@srvs.org or call/text at 731-697-7236.
