Mission Focus for October Memphis Wesley Foundation

For October, our communion offering will be directed toward Memphis Wesley (also known as the Memphis Wesley Foundation). Memphis Wesely is a ministry of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of United Methodist Church that works intentionally with college students in the Memphis area. In recent years, Memphis Wesley has broadened their outreach to include Rhodes. Lemoyne-Owen, and Christian Brothers in addition to the Uof M. This is a student-led ministry focusing on developing spiritual leadership in young adults. Your offering will go directly to fueling the wonderful work of Memphis Wesley.

To donate you can place a check or cash in the offering plate taking care to mark where the donation should go or you can use our eGive option on the website by choosing Memphis Wesley Foundation fund in the dropdown menu. 

2024 UWF Luncheon and Silent Auction

Covenant’s United Women in Faith annual luncheon and silent auction will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Smith Covenant Center. This year’s theme is Walk with the Shepherd. Our guest speaker is Rev. Dr. Birgitte French.

Doors open at 10 a.m. for Silent Auction shopping and bidding. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $15.00 and will be sold on Oct. 6 and 13 in the Narthex and Smith Covenant Center. Tickets can be reserved until Thursday, Oct. 17 by contacting the church office at 753-8587, Jean Ferlanie at 901-413-5115 or Mary Faulkner at 901-674-3279.

Childcare will be available with reservations. Reservations are needed no later than Monday, Oct. 14. Please contact Jean Ferlanie at 901-413-5115 to reserve your space. Please include your child’s name and age.  

United Women in Faith Silent Auction Items

The United Women in Faith (formerly UMW) is having their annual luncheon and silent auction on October 19th and is in need of silent auction items - gently used or new items. They would like them brought to the church before Thursday October 17th, so they can be priced. They would also appreciate a suggested price.

Tuesdays Together! – Tuesday, October 29^th

12:30pm in The Café Area

 Join us for an opportunity to make, bake, and take your own pumpkin bread home! While the bread is baking, you can paint a pumpkin to take home as well! Please join us for this fun time of fellowship and be sure to RSVP to hcrone@covenantumc.org so we have enough supplies for everyone. TY!

September United Women in Faith Meeting

Please join us for the September United Women in Faith (UWF) meeting on Tuesday, October 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Smith Covenant Center.

As part of this meeting, we'll hear about the recent Sager Brown/UMCOR mission trip several of our UWF members experienced. We'll also finish planning for our Fall Luncheon and Silent Auction.

Please plan to join us.  All women are invited. You do not need to be a member of

Covenant United Methodist Church or the UWF to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Young-At-Heart – Thursday, October 17^th 11:30am  

 Picnic Lunch & Pumpkin House

The Pumpkin House is open at Dixon Gallery and Gardens! This whimsical house is a must-see! Join us for a cozy fall experience, photo opportunity, and time to stroll through the beautiful gardens as Fall color emerges. We will meet at the main entrance at 11:30am and have a ‘bring-your-own’ picnic lunch together first, and then time to enjoy a relaxing afternoon exploring the gardens and pumpkin display.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD



Please join us in filling a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child! This year you can make your $10.00 donation and pick up your shoebox in the sanctuary, or outside of the Spirit Center before each service.

We will have a potluck lunch and pray over the boxes on Thursday, November 14th at 11:30am in the Café Area. If you cannot attend the lunch, please drop off your box to the main office by 11/13. Thank you!

Opera Memphis & Memphis Symphony Orchestra

Creative Aging is proud to welcome Opera Memphis back to the Concert Series! Joined by a small ensemble from the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Memphis will provide a taste of their second annual Mozart-themed collaboration with MSO inspired by the music from the acclaimed movie, Amadeus. Anything from the Groovy 70’s

Please bring the items to the Promise Land or the church office with your name on them so they can be returned.
