A Note from Pastor Randy
“THE KICK HEARD ROUND THE WORLD”
What a fantastic kick off to the kickball league for our kids. Thanks to all the volunteers who are helping make this a fun outing for these young families. Several are guest families so it serves as a way to reach out to them. We will send out some pictures next week to give you an idea of the fun the kids are having. The adults are now wanting to play in Pastor Randy’s kickball league! Who knows, it could happen. Stay tuned! Same time same place next week!

If My People….
That will be our next series leading up to the election in November. We will look at 2 Chronicles 7:14 for several weeks to see the role Gods people have to bring about healing in our nation. This one verse lays out the Hope for our nation so I advise us all to take what it says to heart. During the month of October as the series starts, there will be a designated day of prayer for our faith family and anyone in the community to come to the church and personally pray. We will have prayer guides available to pray specifically for our community, city, nation and world. Only God, through the working of His Holy Spirit can bring about the transformation our nation needs. Please begin to pray with me now that God would stir His church to be a healing force in our nation. “Blessed is the nation whose God is THE LORD” Psalm 33:12.

Thank You
Though we have not “made” our budget this year, I want to say a big thank you for your generosity. We are coming up on the last quarter of the year with a lot of layers that can cause us to pause on our giving until we “see” what happens on November 3rd. I urge your continued pattern of giving to show where our true provision comes from. The last 7 months have been a challenge for all of us in many ways. My prayer is that God is meeting your needs according to His great promise. Matthew 6:33

He is Faithful,
Randy

Deacon Nominations, August 30—September 27
We have the wonderful opportunity as a church to choose a group of men to serve as deacons. With this opportunity comes the tremendous responsibility of making sure that the men who serve are called by God to do so and meet the biblical qualifications found in Acts 6:3 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13.

The by-laws state that men who are at least 21 years of age and who have been an active member of the church for at least one year are eligible to be nominated. A list of these men is available to help you in making your choices. Contact the church office for a list of these men by emailing contact@libertypark.org. Please choose eight men from the list and use the form at www.libertypark.org/deaconelections to submit your nominations.

Because the office of deacon is so vital to the health of the church, we urge you to make your choices not on the basis of popularity or any other superficial criteria, but rather on the basis of God’s guidance through prayer and Scripture. We ask, therefore, that you spend time praying diligently about your choices and examining the qualifications found in the two passages mentioned above.

Every individual who is a member of The Church at Liberty Park may submit a nomination form, and all church members are encouraged to participate in this process. Please complete the form online or come by the church office to fill one out. To submit your nominations, click here. We will conclude the nomination process the last Sunday in September (September 27).

Thank you for participating in this important decision affecting the life of our church.

Sunday, October 4 at 6:30pm is our next Family Worship Night! Since we can’t have our weekly Kids Own Worship on Sunday mornings, we want you and your kids to come be part of this special night. We’ll meet in the Sanctuary so we can social distance, but the plan will be just like Kids Worship downstairs. We’ll play games, sing our songs, and I’ll teach a Bible lesson at the end. After we’re finished, we’ll have a shaved ice truck in the parking lot. This will be a fun night for you to worship with your kids and meet some new families. Please make plans to join us!
