Deacon Nominations
Deacon Nominations, August 30—September 27
We have the wonderful opportunity as a church to choose a group of men to serve as deacons. With this opportunity comes the tremendous responsibility of making sure that the men who serve are called by God to do so and meet the biblical qualifications found in Acts 6:3 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13.

The by-laws state that men who are at least 21 years of age and who have been an active member of the church for at least one year are eligible to be nominated. A list of these men is available to help you in making your choices. Contact the church office for a list of these men by emailing contact@libertypark.org. Please choose eight men from the list and use the form at www.libertypark.org/deaconelections to submit your nominations.

Because the office of deacon is so vital to the health of the church, we urge you to make your choices not on the basis of popularity or any other superficial criteria, but rather on the basis of God’s guidance through prayer and Scripture. We ask, therefore, that you spend time praying diligently about your choices and examining the qualifications found in the two passages mentioned above.

Every individual who is a member of The Church at Liberty Park may submit a nomination form, and all church members are encouraged to participate in this process. Please complete the form online or come by the church office to fill one out. To submit your nominations, click here. We will conclude the nomination process the last Sunday in September.

Thank you for participating in this important decision affecting the life of our church.

Student Ministry Updates
Tonight, Wednesday, September 2, 6:00-7:15pm, the middle school students will meet at the church. We will plan to stay outside. We will have a snack for the students.

The high school students will not meet on Sunday, September 6 due to the Labor Day weekend.

On Sunday September 13, we are planning to start back with Sunday school for middle school and high school students. We really want to encourage the students to come to the worship service at 9:00am and not just come to Sunday school at 10:30am. It is good for the students to be a part of the whole church! The students will go to the worship service at 9:00am and then we will have Sunday school at 10:30am. This fall we will be going through the book of James with the students.

For more information, please contact Pastor Clint Barthel at clint.barthel@libertypark.org or call the church at 205-969-1236.
