Be cautious, and please consider your neighbors and pets
Fireworks are normally illegal in Florida if they explode like a firecracker, or if they shoot into the air like a bottle rocket, however, Florida law does allow those fireworks on the following three holidays ONLY:

  • New Year’s Eve
  • New Year’s Day
  • Independence Day (July 4th)

The Village respects the law and will comply with its requirements in every aspect, but it is important for residents to be reminded of the dangerous nature of fireworks. Accordingly, the Village Police and Fire Departments urge anyone using fireworks to be extra cautious and to follow safety guidelines, especially about not letting children use these types of fireworks.

Are you leaving cardboard boxes outside for recycling?
If you leave cardboard boxes out to be picked up for recycling, that's great, but please empty and completely FLATTEN all boxes before putting them outside. Our crews don't have time to break them down. Unflattened boxes often contain trash or contaminants, so recycling crews will leave them for trash pickup unless you flatten them first. Here's an example of what they should not look like for recycling...

Cyber criminals have been sending phony emails that appear to be from VILLAGE employees, but they ARE NOT. It's a forgery and an attempt to gain access to your computer! Don't click any links after you open it, but look VERY closely at the sender's address. If it's from Village staff, it will end with @ village-npb .org (but with no spaces). If not, just delete the email and call us if you are unsure.
