Recycling will be picked up TUESDAY in Thanksgiving week
Our hard-working crews will be taking a Thanksgiving break on Thursday, November 25th, so recycling will be picked up on TUESDAY, November 23rd instead.
Summary of November 18 Village Council meeting
At their November 18th meeting, the Village Council approved a plan to create a development on Prosperity Farms Road, created an ordinance restricting the use of fires and grills in Village parks and took other action.
Residential Code Review Committee hold workshop
The Ad Hoc Residential Code Review Committee held a citizen workshop Tuesday to hear resident concerns about housing codes and neighborhood standards. The discussion centered around the importance of maintaining the Village's traditional character while respecting property rights and the need to allow development codes to facilitate future trends in housing.

No decisions were made, but the Committee asked staff for additional research for the next workshop, which is expected to happen in December. The Village will publish the date and time once it is finalized.

Village golf instructor does
well in national competition
Zack Shriver, Teaching Professional at the Village Country Club golf course recently competed in the National Assistant’s Professional Championship. Zack was an alternate for the National Assistant Club Pro Championship (eligibility was all Assistant Golf Professionals in the USA).  With an opening round of 71 followed by a round of 67, Zack finished tied for 14th … a remarkable showing as he had little time to prepare to play in the event as an alternate!  Awesome job, ZACK!
Road paving projects continue
Roadway milling and resurfacing continues on McLaren Road on Monday. Then paving McLaren & Golfview Road Tuesday & Wednesday Nov. 23-24. Crews will begin concrete work at Anchorage and Lighthouse Drives Monday, Nov. 29-30. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to make the Village “The Best Place to Live Under the Sun.”
Please do not come to golf course to look for crocodile
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says it's against federal law to remove the crocodile from the Country Club golf course, so please be cautious if you are golfing or live nearby. And please do not go out on the golf course to look for the croc -- especially at night. Its best just to leave it alone.
Please keep dogs on leash
at Village golf course
Remember to keep your dog leashed at all times if you visit the Village golf course after hours, or if you come to the Annual Boat Parade on Saturday, Dec. 4th. We've always asked for that, and since there is now a crocodile in and out of the golf course ponds, it just makes good sense to protect your pet.
