Council lowers property tax rate at Sept. 23rd meeting
At their meeting on Sept. 23rd, the Village Council approved a reduced property tax rate for 2022, approved a new annual budget and fee schedule for commercial trash pick, and took other action.
Touch-a-Truck and Fire Safety Fair is Saturday, October 2nd
Get hands-on with a variety of working trucks & vehicles that make life possible in our modern world at the Annual Touch-a-Truck and Fire Safety Fair event. The Fire Safety Fair offers a great opportunity to meet the professionals who keep our Village safe and to see the equipment they use. Saturday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Anchorage Park.

Village waterways get another rehabilitated manatee
About 200 people came to Anchorage Park Wednesday morning to watch the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and The Miami Seaquarium release a rescued and rehabilitated manatee into the water at the boat ramp. FWC and the Seaquarium have released several manatees into Village waters this year.
Future releases will be posted on Village social media as soon as the Village is notified.
Library Haunted House:
Vampires vs. Werewolves
The Village Library is ground zero for a battle as old as time itself. Vampires and werewolves are coming, and you have a chance to vote for the victor. That is, if you survive. Visit the haunted house between Friday, Oct. 29th and Sunday, Oct. 31st and decide who is the top monster that left you screaming!
Thinking of becoming a candidate for Village Council?
A recent change has been made to our Candidate Qualifying Period. The new qualifying period is now the third Tuesday in November through the fourth Tuesday in November. For the March 8, 2022 Municipal Election, the qualifying period will begin on November 16th and end on November 23rd. For more information, visit our Elections webpage
Annual Links 5K Ghost Run is virtual again for 2021
The Ghost Run is coming soon, but you can register now. This year our 5K race is virtual again (yes, that can be done), so we can keep our safe social distancing and still participate in a fun activity. Call (561) 841-3386 if you have any questions or click the sign up link.
Trash crews can't pick up bulk items in inaccessible places
If you leave bulk items out for Village sanitation crews, remember the clamshell trucks can't get the items if you place them under powerlines or trees, near mail boxes, next to cars or in any spot that's hard to get to. Please choose an open space or call (561) 691-3446 if you have a unique situation.
Residential Code Review Committee holds 1st meeting
The new Ad Hoc Residential Code Revision Committee is met Monday and began reviewing Village staff’s proposed Zoning in Progress. They voted to recommend approval of Village staff's proposed ZIP regulations, with one change to recommended maximum height.

A small gesture on Sept. 11
Here's a short, but meaningful video of North Palm Beach firefighters raising a flag on a ladder truck on the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Village firefighters are prepared every day to face danger on behalf of residents and their efforts are part of what makes the Village "The Best Place to Live Under the Sun."

Win a basket of honey products while helping out the Library
Want to support our Library? Stop by and purchase a raffle ticket or two to win a $100 basket of Palm Beach Creamed Honey products. A winner will be selected on October 1st and proceeds will be used to benefit the Library. Tickets are on sale at the circulation desk for a dollar each, or six for five dollars.
PBC plans Northlake resurfacing beginning Thursday night
Palm Beach Country road crews are resurfacing Northlake from Alternate A1A to U.S. 1 for the upcoming week. Work is scheduled for night time operations only and there will be temporary lane closures. Please plan commutes accordingly and drive cautiously when in the area.
