Council merges Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment


At their Oct. 12 meeting, the Council merged the Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission into one body called the Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board, repealed single-family home development Codes adopted last year, and conducted other business.

Council schedules meeting for Tuesday to discuss annexation


The Village Council on Thursday scheduled a Special Meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 17th to consider annexation of properties within the Village's future annexation area.

Join us Wednesday for a friendly conversation about Village Ordinances


The Village NET Team is hosting a "Know Your Code" gathering this Wednesday, October 18th to explain all those tricky Village ordinances that sometimes can be frustrating, but ultimately serve to keep the Village looking beautiful as "The Best Place to Live Under the Sun." The talk begins at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at Anchorage Park.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 6th, bulk item pickup

will by done by appointment ONLY


As part of the Solid Waste Division's ongoing efforts to enhance services and ensure the attractiveness of Village neighborhoods, bulk pickup at residential properties will transition to an appointment-based system effective Monday, November 6th.


Starting then, residents will be required to schedule their Tuesday or Thursday appointments for collection of large or bulky items


Scheduling can be done online or by telephone.

A Spooktacular evening and Haunted House await you


Lots of fun is lurking just around the corner at the annual Village Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 28th in Anchorage Park.


From 5 to 8 p.m., enjoy hay rides, carnival games, inflatables, a trackless train, a haunted house, a costume contest, and more.

Join our Halloween golf cart decorating contest


Here's a fun Halloween idea: The Recreation Department is getting ready for the Halloween Festival's Wicked Wheels Golf Cart Decorating Contest at Anchorage Park on October 28th. Show off your decorated ride! Registration is required to participate.

SUA finishes U.S. 1 project


SUA has completed all water and sewer pipeline replacements and road surface restoration on their project along U.S. 1, between Silver Beach Road and the Earman River. Work began in February and has been completed on schedule. Some minor striping work will soon be complete also.

Environmental talk is Saturday morning at the Country Club


The Village Environmental Committee will host a talk about the use of fire to protect Florida’s native plants and animals this Saturday, Oct. 14th.


Erinn Mullen-Oliver, Park Services Specialist with the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection will speak at 10 a.m. at the Village Country Club, and will give lots of details about fire as a tool for the environment.


On Saturday, Oct. 21st, the Park will hold "FireFest 2023," with outdoor activities for the whole family.
