Did you get a chance to stoip by the Library last weekend for Coffee with a Cop? The Village Police Department appreciates everyone who did, it's always a good thing to have better communication between police and residents. Village police dog will be missed

Message from Police Chief Rick Jenkins:

It is with great sadness that I notify the NPBPD community that K9 Deny, a five-year veteran of NPBPD K9, has passed away from cancer after a months long courageous battle. Deny was a dedicated member of our K9 family and was happiest when looking for and apprehending criminals. Deny was that rare dog who was able to function at a high level in police service and also share his love of others with those humans he chose to love. Deny's love for the job will be remembered, and Dan (his dad), Corinne (his mom), as well as his close and extended family in this community all will miss him terribly.

Rick Jenkins

NPBPD Chief

New playground at Community Center is open for fun play!

A new playground has been installed at the Community Center and is now open for play! The playground is on the east side of the building, between the gym and the baseball field so it's not visible from the road, but it's ready for kids and will be more fun than ever.

Boaters: Make sure your electronics are secured

The Village Police Department is asking boat owners to take extra steps to reduce the risk of thefts from boats. Recently, depth finders, radios, GPS systems and other electronics have been the target of thieves at docks, at boats parked at homes and in marinas.
