Catholic Schools Week 2020
Catholic Schools Week 2020

January 26, 2020

Dear Holy Rosary Families:

Today is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. There are many fun activities that highlight the joys of a Catholic school. It's also important to put into perspective what Catholic schools, and in particular Holy Rosary School, provide students on a daily basis.

Everything we do connects to our mission statement.
Our mission statement states we, in partnership with our families are a faith community which shares its love of God and instills high academic values. We guide students to an understanding of who they are and appreciation for what they can contribute to the world.
Our student learning expectations guide what we do every day in the classrooms. We want our students to be committed academic learners.   We want our students to be active responsible citizens.  We want our students to be faith-filled students. At Holy Rosary School, everything we do stems from the love of God and that we are here to know Him.
In true partnership with parents, we share the responsibility of faith formation. Parents, no matter where you are with you own faith, the opportunity to give your child the foundation they need for life is one that should not be passed up. You have a major influence on your child's faith life.  Bring your child to mass. Be part of the parish community. A family that prays together and know that God gives us hope and purpose will find that their shared faith helps to form a strong family bond.
I am very excited to share that we completed the 3- year Western Catholic Educational Association accreditation revisit with the Diocese of Oakland. The faculty and staff has been highly effective in addressing the recommendations by the Visiting Committee in 2017. I am very proud of the faculty, staff and all of you in our community. We have created a learning environment that has a positive impact on student learning, rooted in the love of God.
As we begin Catholic School Week, let us spend this time celebrating Catholic schools and recognize what our foundations are: a commitment to learning, taking active responsibility and living as a faith-filled student. These foundations start right here at Holy Rosary School.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Fajardo, Principal

Fun Run 2020 Update:
To kick off our second annual Fun Run that engages our students to directly participate in raising funds, we are focusing on three major projects:
1) 2 class sets of Chromebook lap tops with two storage units.  Our ultimate goal is to have lap tops in every classroom!
2) Keyless entry for our exterior doors.  This will give us the ability to lock down the school instantly. Our fundraising efforts for 2020 include matching gifts and an application for a grant to close the gap.
3)  A Water Bottle Filling Station.  If we expect our students to be active, responsible citizens, we have to do our part to adjust our physical environment.
We could not engage in the wonderful learning opportunities and the fun things we do here without your monetary support. Please know that no amount is too small. Your ongoing backing and support are both truly appreciated.
Look for a student participant by their first name.  Share the link with your family and friends.  Pledge to have your teachers run with the kids!
We want to thank our Fun Run Sponsors.  Their initial monetary support cover the costs of the tshirts and all the incidental expenses incurred on the day of the event.  We are grateful for their support.
