Dear ,
The Auburn Symphony's spectacular 2015/2016 season draws to a close this Sunday, May 8th, on Mother's Day, with our annual trip to the beautiful Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. This year's concert program is
truly
spectacular and will feature one of the LARGEST orchestras we have ever had with nearly 100 musicians on stage! You can get tickets online now
and you will pick them up at will-call at the Mondavi box office.
The concert will feature Gershwin expert and renowned pianist Richard Glazier performing Rhapsody in Blue, an American treasure. The
program opens with Bernstein's Candide Overture and the season closes out with Mahler's epic Symphony No. 1. This concert will be all the more amazing in the pristine confines of Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center. So treat your mother to an amazing afternoon of music on this very special day!
THANK YOU BIG DAY!
The Big Day of Giving -- which turned into two and a half days -- was, in the end, a huge success. We want to thank all of you who persevered the technical difficulties and managed to make a donation. It was really a tribute to the generosity of the people of this region who made this such a great day, despite the issues.
The Auburn Symphony raised nearly $20,000, which is our highest total in the three years we've taken part in this effort! We can't thank you enough for your support!
Music Director Peter Jaffe has been working on the finishing touches to our upcoming season and it is shaping up to be a classic! Among the attractions we will have a West Coast premier of a double harp concerto and we'll be joined by Maestro Jaffe's son James, who will perform at our opening Masterworks concert! Click here to check out the season program. And remember...season tix go on sale July 1st!
It has been a great season and I hope to see you at Mondavi on Sunday!
Warmest regards,
Rob Haswell
