TutorWriting Tutor
Do you have a paper due? Students in any discipline, not just those in composition or literature courses, may take advantage of the services of the writing tutors at CSI. Tutors can help with brainstorming, drafting, revising, citations, general formatting, and many other writing concerns. They do not, however, proofread papers. They do offer assistance for students to proofread their own papers.

Miles50 Miles in 50 Days
CSI faculty and staff are invited to participate in "50 Miles for 50 Days". We want the CSI community to move - walk, run, cycle, climb, etc.- 50 miles every day for 50 days (August 31-October 19). This activity can take any form convenient to your day and schedule, but it should get you up out of your office chair and moving. Participation is easy! Just keep track of the distance you cover and report it each day via the   "50 Days for 50 Miles" project form. Your distance will be added to that covered by your colleagues and will help us reach our daily goal of 50 miles per day!

*Note: you may back track and add your miles from previous days.
Click here for a map of your building with a route that equals one mile.

DiseaseDisease Proof
Disease Proof Book Now in CSI Library
A few weeks ago I shared an article with you  about Feet, Forks, Finger, Sleep, Stress and Love - which is the lifestyle formula offered by Dr. David Katz in a recent interview.  Dr. Katz is the president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.  He says that feet equates to activity, forks to proper diet, and fingers for holding tobacco products.  Those were the three that most directly affect 80% of the chronic disease in our population including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and more.  Add quantity and quality of sleep, dealing with stress in a health way, and having strong, supportive relationships in our lives and Dr. Katz says we could all achieve optimal health.
Dr. Katz's recent book on the top called Disease Proof is now in our CSI Library.  This book offers a "proven, user, friendly set of tools that helps us make simple behavioral changes that have a tremendous effect on our health and well-being." Check it out today.
