 Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Art in the church is something we can sometimes overlook. Yet when I pause to pray in the Church or Chapel, I am continually struck by the beauty that surrounds us. One piece that often draws my prayerful attention is the Tiffany glass reredos in the Solomon Family Chapel. In the lower panels are the words from today’s Gospel: “He is not here, for He is risen.”

This simple proclamation carries the weight of our faith. The good news of Jesus’ bodily resurrection launches God’s Kingdom as a living reality in the world. That this message is first revealed to two women reminds us that the Kingdom Jesus inaugurates is deeply counter‑cultural. God’s victory over death upends expectations and begins a brand‑new creation.

To feel the joy of Easter morning, we walk through Holy Week’s sorrow. Christ’s resurrection unleashes God’s “new creation,” where love—not fear—guides our lives.

As a Church and School, we seek to build that Kingdom here at Canal and Harrison, becoming a source of resurrection life and light for our neighbors and city. I am so blessed to be doing this joyful and transforming work with all of our St. Paul’s family. I hope that you will take the opportunity to greet a new face at one of the services of Easter and invite them to be a part of this amazing place as we continue to renew and build our Church by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Know of my love and prayers for you, especially in this Eastertide!

Happy Easter!

~Fr. Austin

The Great Easter Vigil

April 4th, 7:30 PM

Join Us for the Great Vigil of Easter

In one of the most ancient Christian liturgies, darkness gives way to light, and the story of our salvation unfolds once more. Come and stand with us at the holiest night of the Christian year. Together we will kindle the new fire, hear God’s mighty works proclaimed, renew our baptismal promises, and rejoice as we proclaim with joy: Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Following the Vigil, we will gather for a festive reception as we continue the celebration of Christ’s resurrection and the new life we share.

Come and experience the mystery, beauty, and hope of Easter. Bring your handbells.

Celebrate the Joy of Easter at St. Paul’s

Easter Sunday • 7:45 AM & 10:15 AM

Come share in the beauty and wonder of Easter morning as we gather in the church for two joyful celebrations of the Resurrection—both services will include joyful music as we proclaim together: Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Our 7:45 AM service offers a peaceful, reverent start to Easter Day, embracing the grace of early morning worship.

At 10:15 AM, join us for a festive and family‑friendly Eucharist, featuring the beloved flowering of the cross, where all ages help transform the bare cross into a radiant symbol of new life. After the service, children are invited to enjoy our Easter Egg Hunt on the turf/playground. We are weather-aware and will advise if the Easter Egg Hunt will move to the gym.

Come Festive! In true New Orleans spirit, we invite everyone to come in their best Easter attire—hats, bright colors, bow ties, fun ties, and all the joyful flair our city is known for. And don’t forget to invite a friend. Easter joy is meant to be shared.

All are welcome. Come experience hope, beauty, and new life at St. Paul’s.
