Join Calgary Jewish Federation as we mark this historic event with a two-part commemoration program. At 12pm, come together with Survivors, dignitaries, and community members to honour the victims of the Holocaust, their loved ones, and family members at Calgary City Hall.

At 7pm, join professor, historian, and political scientist Dr. Melanie Carina Schmoll at Calgary JCC for a dynamic lecture exploring the challenges of commemoration in a world of decreasing Survivors and witnesses, and the power of the lessons and stories of the Holocaust.

Melamed Mondays
Kehilat Shalom Home Delivery is a new initiative to deliver programming at people’s homes in the community. Our weekly Melamed Mondays are Text/Talmud study sessions facilitated by Rabbi Leonard Cohen on a variety of topics. We examine traditional texts in both Hebrew and English, to analyze their meaning and explore their applicability to our world today. Renowned Holocauset Writer Borys Mychajlowytsch Sabarko looking for support with translations services – You can help!
Sabarko is the author of around 200 books and articles, published in Israel, Austria, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. In Germany his multivolume series on which appeared Shoah in Ukraine and published by him memoirs: Only we survived the Dittrich Verlag and Surviving in the Shadow of Death . He is also the initiator of documentaries on anti-Semitic writings and violent crimes in Ukraine. In order to bring these important books to Canada, he is looking for support in funding translation services of two of his books.
