Director's Reflection
Dear Redeemer Community,

Seventy years ago, Redeemer Parish Day School opened its doors with three staff members, 31 students, a budget of $6,000, and a four-digit phone number. As we kick off our 70th anniversary celebrations, I wish I had the opportunity to chat with the individuals who so bravely took the first steps to establish our wonderful school and program. They started something magical!

While I cannot begin to imagine the dreams they had for Redeemer, I suspect their passion for educating young children was at the heart of all they did. Just like it is today. I feel so fortunate to be part of a program and community that is founded on this.

Our children are the future, and to lead a school whose focus is on an educational experience that teaches students to believe in their dreams is not just a pleasure, it is also an honor. As we look forward to the next seventy years at Redeemer, it is exciting to dream about what lies ahead for our school, community, and students. I suspect it will continue to be magical!

Best regards,
Mary

What's happening in the classrooms?
Miss Ball, Mrs. Blair, Mrs. Hobson & Mrs. Schroeder's 3s

The 3’s have gotten out our magnifying glasses and binoculars to embrace and explore the wonders of Spring. From raindrops to rainbows, birds to butterflies, forsythia branches and daffodils, your children are enjoying exploring, creating and reading about the seasonal changes that arrive in March. We are strengthening and reinforcing our empathy and kindness values through our Spring lessons (being kind to and protective of all creatures great and small), our classroom routines (exploring our feelings about thunder and lightning), and collaborative play (sharing a favorite toy and taking turns). Many thanks to all of our wonderful parents for the lovely Spring luncheon for our faculty meeting. It was such a treat for all of the teachers and so very appreciated.
Happy Spring and enjoy the Sunshine!

Program Highlights
It is hard to believe spring is here! March was another exciting month at Redeemer! Many of our classes hosted play dates on the Redeemer Playground. We have received lots of positive feedback from parents who were so happy to finally connect in person. Thank you to the many parents and our PC co-chairs for organizing them! Prior to spring break, we kicked off our 70th celebration with a Spirit Week which included a 1950s style sock hop, crazy hat and sock day, red, white and Redeemer gear day, and of course, birthday cupcakes baked by parent, Sophie Coates! Our pre-first scientists have been performing experiments with their parents in attendance as we resumed our "Scientist of the Week" program again. Redeemer's first graders were featured on Fox 45 for our partnership with Govans Elementary and the "Hi, Neighbor!" initiative. If you missed it, please click here to watch. We also welcomed a new student in kindergarten, Myles Pointer. Welcome to Myles and his family!
