Scouting: It All Starts Here

We are excited to unveil the theme for the 2025 fall recruitment campaign: “Scouting: It All Starts Here.”

From adventure and creativity to community and teamwork—it all starts here! This fall, we are inviting families to discover how Scouting lays the foundation for a lifetime of fun, values, and unforgettable experiences.

As we work to enhance all aspects of Scouting, please be mindful that when creating promotional materials, it's essential to use images and other content that you have the legal right to use. Do not use copyrighted images from the internet without obtaining proper permission from the owner. Using unauthorized images can lead to legal action, including fines and lawsuits.

Instead, consider using high-quality stock photos from the Scouting America Brand Center, creating your own original images, or using content that is in the public domain. Taking these steps ensures your promotional efforts are not only effective but also legally sound.

Be The Spark

Have you ever considered the power of a single spark? How it can ignite a flame, bringing warmth, energy, and a sense of purpose? That's the core of our new campaign, "Be the Spark: Ignite a Future Leader," and we invite you to be that spark for the next generation. We believe that every individual has the potential to inspire and empower young people. Just as a spark can ignite a roaring flame, one dedicated leader can transform the lives of countless youth.

Volunteers are needed throughout our area. Please sign up today!

Energy Drink Safety

The consumption of energy drinks by children may lead to serious medical consequences. The American Academy of Pediatrics has stated that “stimulant-containing energy drinks have no place in the diet of children and adolescents.” According to the National Institutes of Health, a 24-ounce energy drink may contain as much caffeine as four or five cups of coffee.

Energy drinks contain stimulants such as caffeine and unregulated additives that may increase caffeine’s potency. Their use is discouraged by Scouting America.

For additional information on energy drinks, please follow the link below here.

Medal of Merit Awarded

Congratulations to Scout Rockford "Rocky" S. for being awarded the Medal of Merit!

Rocky's quick thinking and exceptional training as a lifeguard came into play when he rescued a fellow scout struggling in a kelp forest off the coast of Catalina Island, California. Rocky and an on-duty lifeguard heard calls for help and, without hesitation, jumped into action. The lifeguard, recognizing Rocky's superior strength and skill, handed him a rescue tube.

Rocky immediately swam roughly 30 feet to the distressed scout. His calm demeanor and reassuring words helped settle the scout before he pushed the rescue tube to him. Rocky then expertly towed the scout back to shore, where they were both assessed and confirmed to be safe and sound.

Rocky’s heroic actions and selfless character are a true testament to the Scout values. We are incredibly proud to celebrate his well-deserved honor. Congratulations, Rocky!
