Parshas Kedoshim
May 10-11, 2019
Shalom and hello everyone! I hope you are doing well.

Did you join us last week for our great scholar in residence, Rabbi Hayyim Angel?

Wow! What a shabbos! It wasn’t just the crowds and the many interesting new people who came to hear our guest speaker; the profound topics on verbal display were both educational and highly entertaining.
I thank all those wonderful member volunteers responsible for a truly enjoyable shabbos experience, including coordinating a sweet Friday night dinner and powerful seudah shlishis program - a first at Ohav Sholom in a long while!

But we’re not done!
Next week we welcome - live from Israel, for the first time ever at Ohav Sholom, Rabbi David Silber as our guest speaker and scholar in residence. We invite all students, supporters and friends of the Rabbi to join us for an exciting weekend of deep learning and spiritual growth.

Rabbi Silber is devoting the shabbos to themes of kabbalas HaTorah in preparation of chag shavuos, so don’t miss this rare occasion to listen and learn from a unique scholar.

Join us this shabbos afternoon for our regularly scheduled daf yomi shiur on mesechta bechoros, between mincha and maariv. We anticipate having a seudah shlishis with Rabbi Silber next week as well.
Missed this past Tuesday night’s Halacha shiur? Over twenty people joined our class - the first class after the pesach break, and a great time was had by all.

We delved into the laws and history of sefira and the omer and explored the perplexing reason why the many students of Rabbi Akiva perished during this period.

Join us next week as we resume the study of practical hilchos shabbos, in depth and halacha l’maisah! Our new time (to allow for mincha/maariv @ 7:55pm) is 7:00 pm sharp. A complimentary dinner will be served!

All motivated men and women in New York City are invited!
Ohav Sholom is grateful to our super gala kiddush co-sponsors this shabbos morning.

Chazon Heshy Broyde , in honor of his mother's yahrtzeit, Sara Golda bas Yisroel Chaim, a"h , and Matt Bobman , honoring the yahrzeits of his father, Martin Bobman, Mordechai Tzvi ben Aron Nuchim Hakohen, z"l, and his grandfather, Isidore Zohn, Yisrael Ben Moshe z"l.

May all these neshamos enjoy a big aliyah in gan eden! Amen.

Have a wonderful shabbos,

I’ll see you in shul!

Rabbi Aaron D. Mehlman
