Parshas Ki Teitzei
September 13 - 14, 2019
Shalom  and hello everyone!

I hope you are doing well.

Wow! What a wonderful shabbos at OS last week with full crowds and simcha in the air!

Mazel tov again to Johnathan Hoffman upon his auf ruf last shabbos and marriage this week and we wish the new couple much mazel and sholom bayis! Amen.

Our collaborative seudah shlishis with the West Side Sephardic Synagogue was a big success!

Close to fifty men and women joined us as we heard words of Torah and a brief history of Israeli judicial jurisprudence and its growing relationship with baatei dinin, from the great Israeli Rabbi and dayan, Rabbi Yosef Carmel, shlita.
We look forward to the entire month of Elul for these joint seudah shlishis. See below for this week's exciting guest speaker. You don’t want to miss it!

A big hearty mazel tov to Neil and Phyllis Greenblum upon the occasion of their son Daniel’s auf ruf this shabbos at Ohav Sholom!
Join us for a big auf ruf celebration and super gala kiddush following davening.
We wish a hearty mazel tov to Daniel Greenblum upon this wonderful occasion and forthcoming marriage. Come and celebrate with Daniel, his friends and relatives, as we dance and sing the chosson to the Torah this shabbos morning.
We are expecting a large crowd so if you want your regular seat, please come early!

 A new year...a new beginning.
Among other exciting innovations to general programming and improvements to the physical beauty of the sanctuary, Ohav Sholom’s ritual committee will lovingly tweak our shabbos morning shul experience - to best reflect the needs and sensibilities of a new and dynamic generation.

Among other things, look for: punctual start times and finish (we aim to start promptly at 9:00am and finish at 11:00am), new, melodious baalei tefillah, and a world class catered kiddush (think West Hampton Synagogue ) with top shelf l’chayim.
More information to come but for now...please be advised that this coming shabbos, we will begin davening on time.
Brachos at 9:00am! Coffee (for all) and cake (for ladies and kids) will be served in the main sanctuary.
We’ll leave the light on for you!

Join us this shabbos for another joint OS/WSSS joint seudah shlishis as we welcome the famed educator and distinguished Jewish leader, Dean Boylan , of Touro College, to speak at Ohav Sholom.
The entire Upper West Side Community, men and women, are cordially invited!
Mincha: 6:45PM
Followed by Seudah shlishis: 7:05 and Maariv: 7:48PM
Rabbi Dr. Stanley (Shmuel) Boylan is Vice President of Undergraduate Education and Dean of Faculties of Touro College, a position he has held at the College for over two decades.
