May 12, 2022
The end of the academic year fast approaches and we are excited about what lies ahead, as we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2022, and the current eighth graders, fourth graders and pre-first students, as they will be promoted to the next division. Let’s continue to support our students, teachers and community as we wind down what has been a positive school year.

Mental health and general health are definitely top of mind these days, and I wanted to share a site that is worthy of our time. As you can see, this is not COVID-19 related, but coming out of a global pandemic exacerbates the concern of well-being and mental health. We are thriving at the moment, but the end of a school year statistically is a concerning time for school age children, especially teens. The stress of finishing the school year and transitioning to summer can have an impact on students. As you know, we are here to help and have a very capable team of counselors to help our families with any concerns that may present. Please lean on us and never shy away from reaching out to us for ideas, resources or a listening ear. This is not an easy topic to write about, but it is something that needs to be shared and cannot be ignored. Band and theater students honored, plus eighth grade art is only display in the Harrison Center Performance Hall lobby gallery!
Last week was a busy one for the athletic department with teams still competing in the state playoffs! The track and field teams are the final Spartan teams still competing in the playoffs.
Greetings from the college counseling office! May is as manic as ever, so please review these announcements and reminders.
While the end of a school year is exciting, the transition to summer can create stress and anxiety for many children.
The Summer Learning website is now live! Please note that some content will continue to be updated over the next few weeks. Check back frequently for summer reading and other assignments. Questions? Contact your child's division office directly.

The PSO Faculty Post-Planning Luncheon Committee is still accepting donations for the end-of-the-year luncheon for all Athens Academy faculty and staff on Thursday, June 2. This gathering is a much-deserved time for everyone to enjoy each other before heading out for the summer. We are accepting raffle items or cash. No gift is too small! All gifts and donors will be recognized in the luncheon program.
How do I donate? Monetary donations by Venmo (@Kathryn-Rodrigue). Donations may also be dropped off in the Development Office on the first floor of the Chambers Center.
Want to help at the luncheon on June 2? Click here to sign up. Thank you!
