Traveling the Way of Love - Turn

With God’s help, we can turn from the powers of sin, hatred, fear, injustice, and oppression toward the way of truth, love, hope, justice, and freedom. In turning, we reorient our lives to Jesus Christ, falling in love again, again, and again. At Thistle Farms in Nashville, we see what it is to turn from a broken system to a way of healing, from a life of pain to a life of wholeness, from our own inadequacies to fulfillment.

NourishKC Annual Appeal

Food is our most basic need. Yet often, we expect those who are hungry to pull themselves up, dust themselves off, go to work, go stand in line to fill out paperwork, parent their children, clean up their yard, contribute to the world around them … and then we will feed them. If, even for a few moments, we can provide a high quality, nutritious meal in a safe place, a place where individuals and families can regroup, refocus and refresh their energies, we can impact their overall well-being and change their lives. What if we feed people in an atmosphere of dignity and respect?

A new way to support the churches and ministries of the diocese is available with the introduction of a 'Give' option on the diocesan website. At its introduction we are providing support to three key fund raising efforts:

  • Parish Mortgage Assistance, to help our smaller churches that are hampered in their ministries by their mortgage payments.

  • Church Leadership Development, to ease the financial burden on people with a call to do God's work through ordination.

  • NourishKC, operates the Kansas City Community Kitchen, which serves over 500 meals each day, and cooperates with civic and ecumenical partners to find solutions to hunger and food insecurity in the Kansas City Metro area
