If you haven't had a chance to participate yet, there is still time to double your impact for our students in need—click here to make a matched gift to the Tuition Assistance Fund today.

The SPX Singers will be hosting Lunch and Learn rehearsals on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the year during all lunch periods. Students who want to be a part of the Choral Music program at St. Pius X but can't fit it into their schedules are encouraged to attend these rehearsals in Room 103 after they eat lunch. Students who participate in rehearsals consistently are eligible to participate in our concert events, field trips, and competition events such as All State Chorus, Large Group Performance Evaluation, and our spring Six Flags Competition.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mike Abreu at mabreu@spx.org or attend our first informational session on August 12 during lunch. Come be a part of something great!

In response to parent feedback shared by the Home and School Board, St. Pius X has updated our procedure for confirming that parents and students have reviewed course requirements.

What’s changing?

One Universal Form: Instead of signing multiple documents, parents and students will now sign a single sheet of paper acknowledging that they have reviewed the syllabi for all courses.

What's the same?

Students will still bring a hard copy of each syllabus home or show parents where they are posted on Canvas.

Important Dates:

Distribution: Forms were handed out in homeroom on the first day of school.

Deadline: Please sign and have your student return the completed form to their homeroom teacher by Tuesday, August 11.

  • If your student has a food allergy that requires an EpiPen/Auvi-Q/Neffy or asthma that requires an inhaler, you MUST submit an allergy plan or asthma plan to the clinic. Families who had a plan on file and new families who indicated student allergies or asthma on their enrollment forms were emailed blank plans in May.
  • If your student has a chronic medical diagnosis (diabetes, epilepsy, migraines), a new management plan MUST be received for each new school year. Please make sure to submit this to the clinic.
  • Any student who will require medication given in the clinic (daily or as needed) MUST have a new medication permission form on file for this school year.
  • Please take the time to review the illness policy that is located on the Clinic page in Canvas. As we begin a new year, be mindful not to send in your student if he/she has a fever greater than 100.4. Students must be fever-free and vomit/diarrhea-free for 24 hours (WITHOUT MEDICATION) before returning to school. This is so important for our efforts to contain illness.

Parents of JUNIORS: your student MUST be current on vaccinations, meaning your student must provide an updated 3231 form showing the second dose of the MCV meningococcal vaccine was received following their 16th birthday. This is required by Georgia law.

CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING FAIR

On August 27, during all lunch periods, Campus Ministry invites students to visit the Catholic Social Teaching Service Fair. We are excited for students to get more information and connect with service organizations around the Atlanta area.

Parents, we have reached out to service organizations in the area, but the more the merrier! If you have a service organization that fits within the parameters of our program guidelines and would like for students to connect, please click here to fill out the Google form, and we will gladly reach out to them. Please reach out to Campus Ministry with any questions.

Join us on our annual Domini Sumus Retreat on September 25-27. It is an all-school retreat, so everyone is welcome! This year, we will be heading up to the beautiful mountains of Dahlonega. We hope you can join us. Click the link in the graphic to find out more, and if you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Contreras at mcontreras@spx.org.
