Dear St. Pius X Parents,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are so excited to welcome your students back to campus next week. Our faculty and staff will be hard at work during pre-planning this week as they prepare for the school year. Our goals remain the same: to prepare your students for college and heaven.

Each Monday, you will receive the eSpiritus, our weekly newsletter that keeps you informed about everything happening at St. Pius X. You will find important information about school start times, assemblies, activities, community events, and much more. Please be sure to read this publication each Monday to stay connected to all that's happening on campus.

We look forward to welcoming our new students on Tuesday, August 4, for orientation. The first day of school for all students is Wednesday, August 5. Additionally, next week, be on the lookout for our President's Press publication, a monthly e-newsletter that reaches our current families and alumni community.

Domini Sumus,

Aaron Parr '06

President

The day begins with check-in from 7:40–8:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 8:10 a.m. in the Mark Kelly Gym. We invite all new parents to attend Mass and then join us for a parent coffee in the Edwards Cafeteria, generously hosted by our Home & School Association.

Details regarding what to bring, lunch plans, and daily expectations have been sent directly to students through their school email accounts. We look forward to welcoming you to our community. See you soon!

2026-2027 Philanthropy & Engagement Guide

Volunteerism

Parent volunteers are the lifeblood of our community, and we need your help! Please click the button below and take a moment to consider where you would like to serve.

Parent Organization Memberships

Click here to learn about all of our Parent Organizations. The links below offer "one-stop" FACTS and credit card options, offering you easy ways to donate to the 2026-2027 Annual Fund as well as purchase parent organization memberships for the year.

  • If you are sick and not coming to school, a parent must call (404-636-3023 x228) or email the Attendance Office by 9:00 a.m.
  • If you are late to school/tardy, you MUST come to the Attendance Office and sign in on the tablet. You must have a note from a parent or doctor, or a parent must call/email by 9:00 a.m.
  • If you are coming from a doctor's appointment, please bring a doctor's office-provided school excuse to check in (not a parent note saying you had a doctor's appointment). This note cannot be provided later.
  • If you are leaving early, you MUST sign out at the Attendance Office. You sign your name on the yellow “SIGN OUT” log. You must have a signed note from a parent, or a parent must come to the Attendance Office to sign you out. Students MAY NOT leave after 2:30 p.m.
  • If you go to the Clinic, Counseling, Deans, or anywhere at the beginning of class, and did not check in with your teacher first, stop by the Attendance Office on your way back to class, so Mrs. Polzin knows where you were.
  • Informed Absence: When you know ahead of time that you are going to miss school for a FULL day (not a partial day), bring a signed note from your parent at least the day before. Mrs. Polzin will give you the green informed absence form that you will need to get signed by your teachers.
  • If you and your parents have a different last name, please make sure both last names are on the note.
  • When your parents are going to be out of town, your parents must write Mrs. Polzin a note to let her know and include who is responsible for you during their absence.

This information is in your Student Handbook. Please refer to it as needed.

As we prepare for a new school year, please read these important reminders from the clinic:

  • If your student has a food allergy that requires an EpiPen/Auvi-Q/Neffy or asthma that requires an inhaler, you MUST submit an allergy plan or asthma plan to the clinic. Families who had a plan on file and new families who indicated student allergies or asthma on their enrollment forms were emailed blank plans in May.
  • If your student has a chronic medical diagnosis (diabetes, epilepsy, migraines), a new management plan MUST be received for each new school year. Please make sure to submit this to the clinic.
  • Any student who will require medication given in the clinic (daily or as needed) MUST have a new medication permission form on file for this school year.
  • Please take the time to review the illness policy that is located on the Clinic page in Canvas. As we begin a new year, be mindful not to send in your student if he/she has a fever greater than 100.4. Students must be fever- free and vomit/diarrhea-free for 24 hours (WITHOUT MEDICATION) before returning to school. This is so important for our efforts to contain illness.

Parents of JUNIORS: your student MUST be current on vaccinations, meaning your student must provide an updated 3231 form showing the 2nd dose of the MCV meningococcal vaccine was received following their 16th birthday. This is required by Georgia law.

CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING FAIR

On August 27, during all lunch periods, Campus Ministry invites students to visit the Catholic Social Teaching Service Fair. We are excited for students to get more information and connect with service organizations around the Atlanta area.

Parents, we have reached out to service organizations in the area, but the more the merrier! If you have a service organization that fits within the parameters of our program guidelines and would like for students to connect, please click here to fill out the Google form, and we will gladly reach out to them. Please reach out to Campus Ministry with any questions.
