A Reflection from a TC Alumna, Employee, & Coach

I truly believe I bleed Tampa Catholic, and I want others to feel that same pride and connection. Every day, I have the opportunity to make a difference in different ways. Through my work in finance, I help families navigate the financial side of a Tampa Catholic education and help make it possible for their children to be here. Through coaching, I help students grow as athletes, leaders, teammates, and individuals.

My passion for Tampa Catholic runs deep because TC is more than a school to me—it is a part of who I am. As a Tampa Catholic alumna, employee, and coach, I have had the privilege of experiencing TC from many different perspectives, and each has strengthened my Crusader Pride.

What makes TC special is our ability to develop the whole student—academically, spiritually, and personally. I am proud to play a role in that journey.

Crusader Pride isn't something I leave at the door when the school day ends. It is something I carry with me every day. I am proud to be an alumna, employee, and coach, and I hope my passion inspires others to love and represent Tampa Catholic with that same pride.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHT

Students bring the Crusader Pride to TC Volleyball's home opener and first season win!

Tampa Catholic Girls Volleyball won their home opener against Cambridge Christian in close matches with the Crusader crowd cheering them to victory! Congratulations to the players, the coaches, and all who support our volleyball team! This marks the new coach, Veronica Dollar's, first game and first win with the team. Overall, it was an evening of firsts for the girls volleyball this season, but certainly not lasts. We look forward to more victories, more teamwork, more cheering, and more Crusader Pride throughout the 2026-2027 atheltic year.

Justin Vertino '14 Heart of A Crusader

Student-Athlete Scholarship

Applications will be accepted starting Monday, August 24, 2026 for the Justin Vertino – Heart of a Crusader Student-Athlete Scholarship. 

Justin Vertino graduated in 2014 and was an exceptional student-athlete. During his time at TC, he encouraged other student-athletes to work hard and reach their full potential on and off the field. In his honor, the Vertino family established this scholarship following his passing.

This award is available to Freshman, Sophomore or Junior Student-Athlete with 3.5 weighted grade point average. The yearly award for this scholarship is $2,500 and it may be renewed yearly. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Rodriguez in the Advancement office. 

Please note that the deadline to apply is September 14, 2026.

The first few weeks are the perfect time to establish good habits. Check Canvas regularly, stay organized, communicate with your teachers, and ask for help early!

Seniors

Senior meetings with School Counselors are underway! Counselors are reviewing graduation progress, answering questions, and discussing plans and next steps after TC.

Mrs. Haldane, our College Counselor, emailed the Senior Survey to all seniors. Seniors and families who would like to meet with Mrs. Haldane should complete the survey to initiate a meeting.



Seniors should also continue working on college applications and essays and register for upcoming standardized tests as needed.

College Admissions Representative Visits

Juniors and seniors are encouraged to check Naviance and sign up for upcoming college admissions representative visits at TC.

Senior Parent Night

Save the date! Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Learning Lab. We look forward to sharing important information to help seniors and families navigate the year ahead and prepare for life after TC.

Students are encouraged to stop by the School Counseling Office before school, during lunch, or after school when they have questions or need support.
