A Gratitude-Filled Reflection from One of TC's Newest Teachers
The process of protein folding is a chemical reaction that, left on its own, would take trillions of years to complete. Yet, for cells that constantly need folded proteins, specialized catalysts have drastically reduced that time to less than a millisecond.
While discerning my path, I felt called by my faith to serve in education. Electing to enroll in Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education program (ACE), I was blessed with the transformative opportunity to join the Tampa Catholic community as a chemistry teacher for the next two years.
Moving 1,200 miles away from my home in New Jersey, I expected adjusting to a new city and learning the ins and outs of life at TC to be a long, slow process. Naturally, I was nervous about what this transition would bring.
Over the last two months, however, those worries have completely transformed into a deep sense of gratitude. Working alongside colleagues, mentors, and students who share a commitment to faith and excellence has made Tampa feel like home faster than I ever could have imagined.
So, thank you TC community for serving as a catalyst for my faith and creating such a welcoming environment. Here’s to a great year ahead!
