Please be sure to review the Parent Student Handbook prior to the start of classes. Here are a few important highlights to remember as we start the new school year -

Attendence

School begins at 8:10am. Students arriving after 8:10 must report to the office. A tardy will be excused if the student provides a doctor's note on office stationery when the student reports to school.

Absences must be reported to receptionist@tampacatholic.org or (813) 870-0860 ext. 500, by 8:00 AM. Illness and family emergencies are the only reasons for excused absences under usual circumstances. A note from the parents explaining the absence must be presented the day the student returns to school. If the student has a note from the doctor to excuse the absence it should be provided the day the student returns to school.

Dress Code

1. The green authorized TC polo must be worn every day except Fridays when Mission shirts may be worn (see 3.). If a shirt is worn under the polo it must be solid white with no design or writing of any kind. Uniform shirts that do not fit properly must be replaced.

2. Only Tampa Catholic approved GREEN or WHITE, non-hooded sweatshirts and jackets will be permitted. The TC school polo must be worn underneath.

3. On Fridays Mission shirts may be worn in lieu of the school polo. No other spirit shirt is allowed unless it is a spirit dress out day.

4. Boys in 9th-11th grade are expected to be clean shaven at all times. Boys in 12th grade may have short, neatly trimmed and well-groomed facial hair. School administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of hair styles and facial hair.

5. A student who is in violation of the dress requirements may not attend class and may be sent home or a parent or guardian may be called to bring proper attire.

*No visible tattoos are allowed. Girls: no more than two earrings, no other body piercings allowed. Boys: no earrings or spacers may be worn during the school day, no other body piercings allowed.

Cell Phone Usage

There is a phone in the Center for Student Services if a student needs to make a phone call home. Making or receiving phone calls or video chats is not allowed at any time during the school day. Students may use their phone to text during the passing periods and at lunch.

Mass & Retreat Participation

Participation in school retreats and at Mass is an integral part of the formation of the Tampa Catholic student. Students who are not present for school-wide Mass, retreats, and scheduled religious encounters are not eligible for participation in any extracurricular activities scheduled for that day.
