Dressing Up Fabulous 50s Style |
Nostalgia came to life as our young students dressed up in the popular fashions of the 50s, bringing back memories of slicked-back hair, bobby socks, and poodle skirts. The theme was in keeping with "Rockin' Auction" this Spring which plays off of the 50th anniversary of Grace Cascade Christian Schools.
Don't the kids look fantastic? They would fit right in with Fonzie, Richie and Joanie!

Pastor Appreciation Chapel
Students at Grace Christian honored visiting pastors with a special chapel service on Friday. Our valley has been blessed with several Godly leaders who play an important part in teaching, counseling, and praying for us.
As a school, our goal is to partner with families and churches in raising children to be men and women of God for His glory. We're grateful for this opportunity to connect and say we appreciate them.
Pastors enjoyed a time of fellowship with each other over some delicious refreshments. One heartwarming scene captured was Mr. Teterud and "The Quester" (Rousseaux Brasseur) praying together. It captures well our heart to be part of a community with families and churches.

CASCADE CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT
Team Carsen was in the house at Tuesday's basketball game. All around, Challengers proudly wore their Team Carsen shirts in a show of support for our Sparrow. A $3,000 check was presented to Carsen’s family, thanks to generous donation support from T-shirt sales and sponsors (Trinity Counseling, Deanna and Dyan John L Scott, Avida Health and Wellness, Aloha Cabinets and Design, and Forte Clothing). We were also honored to have last year’s Sparrow, Evelyn, join us for this special moment. Carsen was also given a full basket of his favorite things, gifted by our Cascade Families.
The gift presented on Tuesday is not the final total. Our Sparrow Ambassador Team continued to sell t-shirts at the game, and donations were given. And there is a plan to sell more shirts at another venue. We will have final total, which will include tee shirt sales and all student sparrow hour earnings, which we will share at a later in the spring.
Thanks to everyone who came on board with us to rally around this brave young man fighting through health challenges. Let's keep encouraging Carsen and his family, letting them know we are with them in this journey with prayers, encouragement, and support.

Cascade Christian Middle School students are sending their love and support to the families of Village Christian School in Sun Valley, California. Families with students who attend school there were among those affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California.
Thanks to all those who donated snacks and drinks or funds to buy items sold at the snack. Bingham reports that over $850 was raised from snack shack sales.
It's a powerful testament to God's love that middle school kids in Southern Oregon rally behind a community of students hundreds of miles away that they've never even met.

When we reported on this last year, we referred to it as the "soon-to-be-famous" CCMS Pickleball Tournament. Well, it's famous now, and back by popular demand.
Our cameras captured the second day of action, and coming up this week, the championship round will play out. The kids are having a great time, and getting some valuable exercise during this time of inclement weather.
Our hats off to Mrs. Mannenbach for overseeing the tournament, and all her helpers- such as Mrs. Orton and Mrs. Brown to name two- for making this possible. With lunch from Chick-fil-A on the line, there is no lacking in competitive motivation.

Here are our Mathletes Tuesday at their most recent meet at Southern Oregon University. Coach Dougherty says he's proud of the team's third place on a day where points were "hard to come by." He noted powerful performances from Ford Moening and Annika Byers.
Good job team!

The needy in our community will have a fresh supply of gently used clothing, thanks to a donation drive conducted lst Wednesday at Cascade Christian. Our ASB team helped walk donors through the process, as they loaded up to take donations to St. Vincent DePaul's.
Something's Cooking In AP Spanish |
You have to love Sr. Chavez. Not only does he do a great job of teaching the Spanish language, but he also has a fun way of weaving a little culinary culture into his class.
Last Tuesday, his AP class slipped into the kitchen to bake some homemade chips and heat up a sauce that was kind of like a beanless and meatless chili, combined with peppers, avocados, and sour cream. It was quite delicious.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun!
Thursday night was a good night for a little girls' night out. It was a Galentine's night for our high school ladies.
The evening included making a bouquet, a chocolate fountain, a movie, and a lot of good old-fashioned female fun!
