How will this benefit my middle and high school students? We are glad you asked…the new campus offers benefits for students preschool through senior year. With a state-of-the-art chapel and extra large gymnasium – boasting 6 volleyball courts and 4 basketball courts – our middle and high school students will have access to this amazing facility year round. Will you join us as we set out to make a lasting impact on the lives of our local youth for generations to come?

Farewell & Thank You
As the school year comes to a close, we bid farewell to members of our Grace Cascade staff who are either retiring or moving on to new adventures. When it comes to what makes a school great, it's the people who make a difference. These fine people have been difference makers during their time with us.

Valerie Coulman, Musical Program Director- Mrs. Coulman has made her mark at Cascade with a lot of hard work into such productions as Peter Pan Jr. and Princess Whatsername. Since 2016, she has lent her considerable talents to some really outstanding work. Our students learned a lot about the performing arts from her.

David Day, Grace Campus Security - Good for a friendly greeting, you nonetheless knew you could count Officer Day to know what to do if an emergency arose. A grandfather who also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and in law enforcement, he was a perfect combination of traits to help keep things orderly and safe, while making Grace a welcoming place.

Kirstine Dunlap, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher - As a student and a teacher, Mrs. Dunlap has been a big part of Grace Christian's history. Back in the day, she attended Grace Christian through the 8th grade, then she returned to work at the school in the 1996-97. In 2008, after taking a break to raise her three children, Mrs. Dunlap returned. She's played a big part in getting the academic lives of young children off to a good start, and we're grateful for what she's invested in those lives.

Ryan Johnson, Secondary Music Teacher/ Band & Choir Director- Since 2013, Mr. Johnson has worn a number of hats in the name of Cascade Christian music. Besides his work with symphonic bands, he has also introduced a percussion class, and jazz. Four years ago, Mr. Johnson added directing choir to his responsibilities. His passion for music was evident in his work, and he loved the students. Our real question is who will take over playing four square with the kids at lunch break now that Mr. Johnson and Mr. Ritchie are moving on.

Dennis Konecny, Strength & Weights Training- Mr. Konecny came to Cascade ten years ago as a personal trainer. Within two years, he became a game changer for Challenger athletics with strength and weights training. Looking at the success of our athletics programs, student-athletes have learned the value of work in the weight room.

Clint Ritchie, CCHS Social Sciences teacher- From World History to Economics, Mr. Ritchie has covered a considerable range of subject matter in his six years at CCHS. Serious about his subjects, he also had a fun side that could be seen on display, playing four square with the students at lunch. Thank you, and we hope to see you at Challenger sporting events in the future.

Mychal Sha, Middle School Teacher- Like Mrs. Dunlap, Mr. Sha has the distinction of having been both a GCCS student and a GCCS teacher. His energy and enthusiasm will be missed in the middle school halls, where he had been a teacher since 2016. We're grateful you have walked this journey with us for a season.

Thank You Pastor Todd & Pastor Mitch
Have you ever spoken to an empty auditorium. Perhaps if you work in broadcasting, you're used to talking to walls, but for a pastor, it's a different dynamic.

Given the challenges brought on by COVID-19, we are grateful for Pastors Todd Killmeyer of FBC Medford, and Mitch Connell of Heritage Christian Fellowship for being our chapel leaders via social media. Though they missed out on the face-to-face interaction that can lend so much energy to a chapel service, they faithfully ministered week after week, instructing and encouraging from the word of God.

Thank you for your service, gentlemen. May the Lord bless you.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS
New Campus Update
Do you remember the playground equipment that Mr. Teterud and Mr. Roehl were posing in front of for a Facebook video last week? It's not there anymore! It's moved to our new elementary campus on Airport Road.

Not only has the playground equipment moved, our 12-thousand volume library has moved, and all the shelving is being freshly painted by our hard working staff. It's becoming more and more real every day.
MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
We want to offer our heartiest congratulations to our middle school students who kept up the good work while continuing learning in a new and unexpected way in the spring of 2020. These are the students who made honor roll for the fourth quarter of 2020.

Teacher Spotlight: Karin Wegner
Did we miss someone? In last week's edition of eTouch, we recognized teachers who had reached milestone anniversaries this year. It has come to our attention that we missed one. Sixth grade teacher Karin Wegner has been with GCCS for 20 years. She's so young we figured there's no way she's been here that long, right? That's our story and we're sticking to it.

Having come to faith in Christ at 16, Mrs. Wegner knows how important the teenage years are in setting the foundation for a young person's life. Her students will tell you she brings a lot of energy and passion to her classroom, and former students fondly remember their time in her class. With her obsession with the color purple, it's only natural that she teach at Cascade Christian.

She and her husband Jason have a son that graduated from CCHS in 2019, and a daughter who will be a senior this year. She and her family enjoy camping, playing games. Karin also enjoys reading and coffee with friends (Not necessarily in that order). The Wegners attend Bear Creek Church.

Congratulations, Mrs. Wegner! Here's to 20 more!

4.0 Pin Winners
Making the honor roll is a nice accomplishment, earning a four-point grade-point average for a quarter is an impressive achievement, but what about earning straight A's for an entire year? Well, that's brilliant! 58 of our 205 students earned this distinction in the recently concluded school year.

The following students have earned 4.0 GPAs this year, and will be given pins to commemorate the feat at a later date.

CCHS Alum Offering Summer Tutoring
J ust as student-athletes are working out and strengthening their skills for next year, summer time is also a great time to sharpen up academically. Former Cascade Christian student Asa Hoffman- a senior at Hillsdale College- is offering his services as a tutor for high school and middle school students. He has just recently received approval to tutor online with TutorOcean, and would also welcome the opportunity to work on an "in person" basis with local students.

Hoffman is looking to come alongside students who may be looking to continue their academic growth in Social Studies, English, and/or Math. To find out more, call Asa today at (541) 621-1746, or email asaginger19@gmail.com.

Get Registered For Fall Sports Today!
Cascade Christian is getting ready for fall sports. There's no time better than now for your athlete to get registered. While the picture isn't clear on some of our fall sports, we are preparing as if things were normal in terms of preparation.

The last couple of years we have used a program called Register My Athlete and we will continue with this process. If you are interested in knowing what is happening this summer with Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Soccer please sign up online at   www.registermyathlete.com.

By signing up now you will receive summer workout information directly from our coaches. Even if you are not 100% sure you want to play, still sign up so that you do not miss any of the information that coaches send out over the summer.

While High School and Middle School sports my have things going on during the summer, none of it is considered mandatory. The official start of the fall season will begin August 17th. Once that date comes all our Middle School and High School athletes will need to have a current physical on record with the Athletic Office.
SECURITY: SIGN UP FOR CRISIS GO
Parents, if you haven't done so already, please sign up for CrisisGo. This conveys real time information and communication between families, students and the school that will be most helpful and reassuring when up-to-the-moment information is needed, whether it be a weather-related situation, or security related emergency. Hopefully, we'll never need it, but it's an invaluable tool when it is.

Please follow the link below and click on “Not a CrisisGo user? Create one Today”. It's worth the time to do so.
