| | | | Big Changes Are Coming to the Kids Ministry! | |
We've seen a lot of exciting growth in the Kids Ministry and overall church attendance over the past few months! With Christmas around the corner, we expect another surge of families wanting to join us as we 'Follow Jesus Together!'
To make the most of our space and to ensure all of our kids have the best Sunday morning experience possible, we are in the process of reorganizing our classroom assignments. Details about these changes are still being finalized, but will take effect beginning Sunday, January 4.

Our next Blood Drive is Monday, January 5, from Noon to 6:00 PM in the Youth Center.
If you are eligible to donate, please make an appointment today! Your donation of a single pint of blood could save up to THREE lives.

If so, we encourage you to attend our Connect Class on Sunday, January 25 at 9:00 AM in rm. 132. This class is PERFECT for someone new (or mostly new) to Worthington Christian Church. Led by Outreach Minister Jay Scott, this class will offer a relaxed atmosphere for honest questions and discussion.

Our goal is to pack over 200,000 meals in five separate one-hour sessions in the Youth Center on Sunday, February 8. To do this, we need 160 volunteers per hour on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday!
WHY DO WE DO IT:
Each meal packed will be shipped globally and/or locally by Lifeline Christian Mission to children and families affected by hunger and malnutrition.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The work is fairly simple and easy, making it a great service opportunity for Elementary-age children, teenagers and/or adults.
| | |
Meal packing times are 8:00, 9:00, 10:30, 11:30 AM, and 12:30 PM. Our most popular meal pack times are 9:00 and 10:30 AM, so if you want to participate, please register early. Gloves and hairnets will be required and are provided.
PLEASE NOTE: If you require childcare, please register during the 9:00 or 10:30 AM meal pack times.
| | | | Volunteer Opportunity: Worthington Christian Village | |
The Village continues to seek volunteers who may enjoy the Sunshine Cart Activity in our Health Care Center (HCC), located on the 7th floor, on Fridays or Saturdays after 2:30 PM. The HCC center is mainly for long-term nursing care. Residents can be bedridden and may be on hospice care.
The Sunshine Cart involves a weekly or bi-monthly commitment. Anyone interested is welcome to shadow a current volunteer first to see what it’s like. A Sunshine Cart is a mobile cart filled with treats, activities, and sometimes small gifts, delivered directly to residents to brighten their day.
| | |
The purpose is to lift spirits, particularly for residents who may be feeling unwell, isolated, or unable to leave their rooms easily. This is part of our Life Enrichment Team initiative program. The benefits of the program for residents include:
-
Social interaction: Provides a moment of one-on-one contact with a friendly volunteer, which can combat loneliness.
-
Empowerment: Giving residents a choice of what they receive offers them a sense of control.
-
Variety and stimulation: It can break up the monotony of the day and introduce new activities.
-
Enhanced well-being: The treats and gifts, however small, can create a burst of positive emotion.

| | | | Women's Ministry: Every Thought Captive | |
Ladies, are your thoughts leading you toward transformation or conformity? Are they building you up or tearing you down? Are they drawing you closer to God or pulling you away?
In our study, ’Every Thought Captive,’ you will explore a topic crucial to your spiritual growth: the battle for your mind.
Join us and learn how God can transform our minds through the power of the Holy Spirit! We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, beginning January 20, and on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, starting January 22.
