Worthington Christian Church
Volume 14, Issue 8 | February 24, 2021
Join us for worship this Sunday!
We ask that you please register for in-person worship. We need you to do this for two reasons:

  1. If someone who attended in-person worship tests positive for COVID, we are obligated to inform you of possible exposure. We cannot inform you if you don't register.
  2. Seating is limited. To ensure that we are able to keep everyone at a safe distance, we need to know how many to expect on Sunday during each service.
For additional details on what we are doing to make in-person worship services safer, please visit our website.

NOTE: Kid's Worship & Preschool classes are available during the 9:45 AM service only.

Is your son or daughter in need of a fun and inspirational weekend? If so, get them registered for SuperStart / Believe AT today!

SuperStart / Believe AT is a high-energy two-day event here at Worthington Christian Church for our preteens (4th & 5th) and Middle School Students (6th-8th).

Will Ellis and Carrie Wiley are planning a lot of fun activities for our 4th-8th grade students to connect with their friends and leaders and to help them grow in their relationship with God.
There will be powerful worship and teaching from God’s word in both of these programs (occurring separately and together) during various times over the weekend, so be sure to invite a friend and register by March 24! The cost is $25/student.
Connect Class
Our Connect Class, led by Community Life Minister, Austin Seevers, will answer your questions about faith, baptism, church membership and our vision for Worthington Christian Church.

We will offer this class in a hybrid format on Sunday, March 21 at 11:00 AM to Noon in rm. 120 and through Zoom. It will be in a relaxed atmosphere that allows for honest questions while we take a closer look at what we believe and how we respond to those beliefs.
Family Movie Night
We will wrap up our "Challenge Accepted" teaching series by watching the movie Overcomer.

Join us at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 5 in the Family Life Center. We will have plenty of room to spread out and Kids Ministry will provide the popcorn and cotton candy. Your family can bring comfy chairs and blankets, drinks, and other snacks.

Registration is not required. See you there!

Kids Ministry: Challenge Accepted
Great sports moments tend to involve people who accepted a big challenge, one that required courage and an ability to keep going.

This month, kids will have fun using sports to learn about the many ways they can say yes to challenges bravely. Jesus accepted many challenges. Through the stories we know about him, we learn a bunch of things that help kids walk through whatever they are facing.
"Challenge Accepted" is our curriculum for February 2021. Teaching videos, notes and coloring pages are available on our Kids Ministry page. If you would like to join us in-person on Sunday mornings, you may do so during the 9:45 AM service, but registration is requested.
START HERE: Kid's Ministry Baptism Class
Kids have questions about a lot of things, including questions about Jesus and faith. How can we equip parents to have significant faith conversations at home? What if parents and kids just need a place to start?

The 'START HERE' class will help equip parents to lead their children to Christ as it helps to equip kids with four things they can do today (and every day) to know God: HEAR. PRAY. TALK. LIVE.
Join us on Sunday, March 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 4:30-5:45 PM as we START HERE. We recommend this class for all families with children 8-12 who have started thinking about following Jesus and have questions about baptism.

Parents, we encourage you to join us for the first and last Sunday of this class. All children wishing to participate need to be registered. Parents, if you plan to join us on the first and last Sunday of 'Start Here' please let us know in the Memo line of your registration.

Questions? Please contact Carrie Wiley.
NEXT STEPS: Kid's Ministry Growing Faith Class
This class is designed for kids who have taken the plunge and made the decision to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

But... now what?

This class will help to answer that question as we equip kids to develop habits for growing in their faith. We will meet at the same day & time as the "Start Here" class (every Sunday in March).

Questions? Please contact Carrie Wiley.
High School Summer Conference -- MOVE!
We're dedicated to investing in the next generation by encouraging them relationally as we equip them spiritually to be kingdom workers for God.

But that doesn't mean your high school student can't have fun in the process!

This year, WCCYouth is taking our high school students (grades 8-12) to a high-energy five-day event designed to amplify the call of Christ on their lives. This event is called, "CIY MOVE," and it's taking place at Milligan University in Tennessee from June 21-26.
Students at MOVE not only learn and worship together – they spend quality time with their church youth groups, discovering ways that God will use them to impact the world.

The early bird cost is $250/student with a $75 deposit. (After April 11, the price will increase to $325/student.)
Middle School Summer Conference -- MIX!
Wondering how to engage and spiritually challenge your middle school student this summer? WCCYouth has a suggestion...

Register them to attend CIY MIX!

CIY MIX is a four-day event from July 5-8 at the Indiana Wesleyan University designed specifically for your middle school students (grades 5-7). MIX is intentionally crafted in ways that will engage middle school students through tactile, interactive and fun activities coupled with Bible-based teaching and small group interaction.
We believe that God is using students to change the world and this conference is meant to encourage and equip them to meet that challenge.

The early bird cost is $250/student with a $75 deposit. (After April 11, the cost will increase to $300/student.)
