Worthington Christian Church
Volume 18, Issue 49 | December 3, 2025
| | | | |
Worthington Christian Church has served as a "City on a Hill" in our community for the last fifty years, guiding people toward the love of Jesus. This year, we celebrated our 50th anniversary and marked our continued commitment to shining our light as we look to the future.
One of the pillars of our church is our commitment to generosity. In fact, our church was founded on this principle. Individuals, families, and local churches gave generously to our early congregation so we could become the church we are today. This fall, we continue this tradition as we look to bless our sister churches.
| | |
Our goal is to raise $100,000. We will provide $50,000 for our missionaries in Kosovo to help purchase a church building, $25,000 will go to Lifeline Christian Mission to help resource churches, and $25,000 will go to the Blessing Ranch Ministries to help keep ministers in churches.
We ask that you prayerfully consider supporting us in our efforts to bless our fellow churches in need. You may give online (please use the 'Thanksgiving Fund') or by check (please specify 'Thanksgiving Fund' in the memo line).

| | | | Kids Christmas Program is Sunday, Dec. 14 | |
Join us on Sunday, December 14, at 4:00 PM as our K-5th graders present 'The Great Christmas Giveaway!' in the Worship Center!
Our elementary students have been working hard preparing for our annual Kids Christmas Program, and are excited for you to see it! The program will feature engaging songs, an important spiritual message, and sparkling arrangements you've come to expect from a Celeste Clydesdale musical. 'The Great Christmas Giveaway' is sure to delight audiences of all ages!
Registration is not required. A cookie reception will follow the program.
| | | | Volunteers Needed: Christmas Eve | |
Volunteers are needed to help at all of our Christmas Eve service times: 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 PM. (Our 1:00 service time has the greatest need for volunteers.)
Wondering what to expect? The work is pretty straightforward, but very important!
Your job will be to make our guests and families feel welcome. To do that, you will greet everyone as they enter, help them find a place to sit if necessary, wish them a Merry Christmas as they leave, and/or assist with Worship Center clean-up to prep for the next service.
| | |
You may choose to volunteer at any service you wish! Greeters are asked to arrive twenty minutes before the service starts and return to the doors before the end of each service. Ushers and clean-up crew do not need to arrive early.
Interested? Please contact Alison Morrow.
Training will be provided on Sunday, December 7 and December 14 at 11:45 AM. Please meet Alison Morrow near the fireplace.
| | | | |
Experience an hour with us on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the greatest message ever told—a Savior has been born! Join us for an evening of worship and candle lighting.
Our Christmas Eve service times are 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 PM.
If you cannot attend in person, you can still celebrate with us online!

PARKING ON CHRISTMAS EVE
As a gift to first-time visitors to our church, we encourage all WCC members to park in the side lot south of the church, off Northwoods Blvd. The walk from the side lot to the main entrance of the church is easy, and you'll save a new family from the frustration of driving in circles during the busy Christmas season.
If you're not familiar with the side lot, please stop by the Information Desk or Guest Central this Sunday, and someone can point it out to you.
Thank you!
| | | | Volunteer Opportunity: Worthington Christian Village | |
The Village continues to seek volunteers who may enjoy the Sunshine Cart Activity in our Health Care Center (HCC), located on the 7th floor, on Fridays or Saturdays after 2:30 PM. The HCC center is mainly for long-term nursing care. Residents can be bedridden and may be on hospice care.
The Sunshine Cart involves a weekly or bi-monthly commitment. Anyone interested is welcome to shadow a current volunteer first to see what it’s like. A Sunshine Cart is a mobile cart filled with treats, activities, and sometimes small gifts, delivered directly to residents to brighten their day.
| | |
The purpose is to lift spirits, particularly for residents who may be feeling unwell, isolated, or unable to leave their rooms easily. This is part of our Life Enrichment Team initiative program. The benefits of the program for residents include:
-
Social interaction: Provides a moment of one-on-one contact with a friendly volunteer, which can combat loneliness.
-
Empowerment: Giving residents a choice of what they receive offers them a sense of control.
-
Variety and stimulation: It can break up the monotony of the day and introduce new activities.
-
Enhanced well-being: The treats and gifts, however small, can create a burst of positive emotion.

Winter is still a few weeks away, so now is a great time to clean out your coat closet and see what items you have that may deserve a new home!
From now until the end of the year, we're collecting new and gently used adult winter coats, hats, and gloves for the Columbus Dream Center. Adult sizes requested.
Please drop off your donation in the marked bin near the front doors this Sunday.
