| | | | Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend. Don't forget to turn your clock back one hour before going to bed Saturday night! | | | | |
Guys, join us this Sunday, November 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for our next Men’s Event!
Outreach Minister Jay Scott will lead the evening. The focus will be on Power. There will be discussion, encouragement, and (of course!) food!
Please RSVP so we have enough food for everyone.
| | | | Thanksgiving Baskets for the Dream Center | |
Once again, we are collecting Thanksgiving Baskets for the Columbus Dream Center. The Columbus Dream Center will distribute these baskets to area families in need.
If you would like to donate a basket, please register today!
| | | | Operation Christmas Child | |
Our annual Operation Christmas Child donation drive has begun!
Empty shoeboxes will be available in the Atrium this Sunday, but supplies are limited. Please visit the Operation Christmas Child website for great ideas and suggestions on filling your shoebox.
Please use our online form if you'd prefer to let the folks at Samaritan's Purse pack a shoebox for you.
The deadline to return your filled shoeboxes to the church is Sunday, November 16.

Have you ever wondered about the authenticity, accuracy, or authority of the Bible? Have you ever dug into the historical accuracy of the gospel accounts? Have you ever wondered, "Can I be sure about my beliefs in Jesus?"
If so, you’ll want to join us for our three-week Bible study, "WHY We Believe," beginning this Sunday, November 2, at 9:00 AM in room 135.
Led by Jay Scott and James Canterbury, this study will help answer some of your questions about the Bible and Jesus, enabling you to continue growing in your faith.
| | | | Holiday Craft & Gift Show | |
The Worthington Christian Village invites you to their annual Holiday Craft and Gift Show this Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This is an excellent opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early! A wide variety of handcrafted items, holiday decorations, and a bake sale will be available.
If you love to bake and want to participate in the Bake Sale, please contact Brenda Starr (614-582-8203 or bls1187@yahoo.com) for more info.
Join us at the Worthington Christian Village at 165 Highbluffs Blvd. (behind the church). Parking is free!
| | | | Volunteers Needed: Sunshine Cart Activity! | |
The Village is looking for new volunteers who may enjoy the Sunshine Cart Activity in our Health Care Center (HCC) on Fridays or Saturdays after 2:30 PM. This may involve weekly or bi-weekly commitments.
A Sunshine Cart is a mobile cart of treats, activities, and sometimes small gifts delivered directly to residents to brighten their day. The purpose is to lift spirits, particularly for residents who may feel unwell, isolated, or unable to leave their rooms easily.
| | |
The benefits of the program for residents include:
-
Social interaction: Provides a moment of one-on-one contact with a friendly volunteer, which can combat loneliness.
-
Empowerment: Giving residents a choice of what they receive offers them a sense of control.
-
Variety and stimulation: It can break up the monotony of the day and introduce new activities.
-
Enhanced well-being: The treats and gifts, however small, can create a burst of positive emotion.
To learn more, please contact WCV’s Volunteer Coordinator, Rene Lanam (614-846-6076).

Join us on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 AM to Noon at WCC for a family-friendly event for ALL ages as we pack Care Kits to benefit our Impact Partners during the holiday season!
IMPACT PARTNERS:
-
The Ronald McDonald House – packing snack kits & hygiene kits
-
Worthington Resource Pantry – packing Birthday kits
-
PDHC – packing New Baby kits
-
The Laurels and Willowbrook – Families will make Christmas cards for the residents at The Laurels and Willowbrook Nursing Homes. (These residents may get overlooked during the Holiday season.)
| | |
During this event, your family will have the chance to partner with these impact partners by assembling Care Kits here at church!
This event isn't just for families with young kids—it's for anyone with a heart to serve! The purpose of the event is to help kids (and adults) identify the needs around them and discover how they can help their community. Representatives from each Impact Partner will be in attendance to educate us and help us discover the many ways we can make a difference.
No one is too young or too small to make the world around them a better place!
| | OPTIONAL: To help cover the cost of materials, please consider donating $25 per family to cover the cost of items used in this event. You may pay the day of the event with cash or check, or via Paypal. | | | | |
Join us on Wednesday, November 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM for our annual Worthington Christian Church Thanksgiving Dinner!
We will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal (turkey and all the fixings!) in the Youth Center. The cost is $5/person or $20/family; payment will be taken at the door. Kids under 10 eat free!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because food has to be purchased and prepared, the deadline to RSVP is Friday, November 14.
Don’t wait -- RSVP today!

Winter is still a few weeks away, so now is a great time to clean out your coat closet and see what items you have that may deserve a new home!
From now until the end of the year, we're collecting new and gently used adult winter coats, hats, and gloves for the Columbus Dream Center. Adult sizes requested.
Please drop off your donation in the marked bin near the front doors beginning this Sunday.
| | | | Worthington Resource Pantry | |

- Rice (in 1lb. bags)
- Diapers (sizes 2 and up)
