Thanksgiving Baskets for the Columbus Dream Center |
We are collaborating with the Columbus Dream Center to provide Thanksgiving meals to those in need! The Dream Center has requested our help in providing a basket full of food for a Thanksgiving meal for a needy family in Central Ohio.
This is a great service opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to donate a Thanksgiving meal basket and help make someone's holiday a little brighter!
To learn more about the Thanksgiving Basket donation drive, please visit our website.
| |
NOTE: The deadline to drop off your donation is Wednesday, November 20. The basket needs to be a new laundry basket. (Dollar Tree is a great place to purchase one!)

Kids Ministry: Joy Drive! |
What is a Joy Drive? It’s an event designed to equip families to spread JOY to our neighbors in the community and worldwide!
How do we do this? By volunteering our time and/or resources to a specific impact partnership. This year, the Kids Ministry is partnering with the Worthington Christian Village, the Columbus Dream Center, the Ronald McDonald House, Lifeline, and Operation Christmas Child. Each partner will have unique opportunities for families to serve and/or donate.
Our first annual Joy Drive is on Saturday, November 23.
| |
Each service opportunity is family-friendly. Service opportunities include the Worthington Christian Village, Columbus Dream Center, Ronald McDonald House, and Lifeline Christian Mission.
NOTE: Are you planning to donate to the Ronald McDonald House? Here's a helpful list to get you started!

How to Help the Victims of Hurricane Helene |
The IDES U.S. Disaster Response Team is currently responding to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. IDES is partnering with Central CC in St. Petersburg, FL, which serves the St. Petersburg, Tampa, Sarasota, and Venice Beach areas, as well as others if necessary. They are also partnering with Tomoka CC in Ormond Beach, FL.
In the Appalachian region, IDES has been serving with First Christian Church in Elizabethton, TN, for the past several weeks. They are now moving from there to Arden, NC, to team up with Oak Grove Christian Church to help those in Western NC.
| |
As with every disaster, IDES requires the generosity of others to help those in need. They need financial support, volunteers, and continued prayers. IDES has asked Worthington Christian Church to share its efforts in the hopes that all of us can help them in their work. One hundred percent of your donation will go toward their hurricane response.
Please visit their website to learn more about their relief efforts and how you can help. Please also continue to pray for the people affected by Hurricane Helene.

Are you new (or newish) to Worthington Christian Church? If so, then the Connect Class is for you!
Our Connect Class, led by Outreach Minister Jay Scott, will answer your questions about faith, baptism, church membership, and our vision for Worthington Christian Church.
We will offer this class on Sunday, November 17, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in room 120. It will be in a relaxed atmosphere that allows for honest questions while we closely examine what we believe and how we respond to those beliefs.
