Christmas Eve

Experience an hour with us on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the greatest message ever told—a Savior has been born! Join us for an evening of worship and candle lighting.

Our Christmas Eve service times are 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 PM.

If you cannot attend in person, you can still celebrate with us online!

PHOTO SPOTS ON CHRISTMAS EVE

Did you know we have four photo spots set up for Christmas Eve? We do! Most of you are probably familiar with the photo spot in the Atrium, but we also have one just inside the Kids Wing across from the Checkpoint Desk and two more at each of the back entrances (near the fireplace and rm. 132). We have plenty of great options for your family photo this Christmas Eve!

PARKING ON CHRISTMAS EVE

As a gift to first-time visitors to our church, we encourage all WCC members to park in the side lot south of the church, off Northwoods Blvd. The walk from the side lot to the main entrance of the church is easy, and you'll save a new family from the frustration of driving in circles during the busy Christmas season.

If you're not familiar with the side lot, please stop by the Information Desk or Guest Central this Sunday, and someone can point it out to you.

Volunteers Needed: Christmas Eve

Volunteers are needed to help at all of our Christmas Eve service times: 1:00, 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 PM.

Wondering what to expect? The work is pretty straightforward, but very important!

Your job will be to make our guests and families feel welcome. To do that, you will greet everyone as they enter, help them find a place to sit if necessary, wish them a Merry Christmas as they leave, and/or assist with Worship Center clean-up to prep for the next service.

You may choose to volunteer at any service you wish! Greeters are asked to arrive twenty minutes before the service starts and return to the doors before the end of each service. Ushers and clean-up crew do not need to arrive early.

Interested? Please contact Alison Morrow.

Big Changes Are Coming to the Kids Ministry!

We've seen a lot of exciting growth in the Kids Ministry and overall church attendance over the past few months! With Christmas around the corner, we expect another surge of families wanting to join us as we 'Follow Jesus Together!'

To make the most of our space and to ensure all of our kids have the best Sunday morning experience possible, we are in the process of reorganizing our classroom assignments. Details about these changes are still being finalized, but will take effect beginning Sunday, January 4.

Info will be posted on the Kids Ministry website later this week!

Volunteer Opportunity: Worthington Christian Village

The Village continues to seek volunteers who may enjoy the Sunshine Cart Activity in our Health Care Center (HCC), located on the 7th floor, on Fridays or Saturdays after 2:30 PM. The HCC center is mainly for long-term nursing care. Residents can be bedridden and may be on hospice care.

The Sunshine Cart involves a weekly or bi-monthly commitment. Anyone interested is welcome to shadow a current volunteer first to see what it’s like. A Sunshine Cart is a mobile cart filled with treats, activities, and sometimes small gifts, delivered directly to residents to brighten their day.

The purpose is to lift spirits, particularly for residents who may be feeling unwell, isolated, or unable to leave their rooms easily. This is part of our Life Enrichment Team initiative program. The benefits of the program for residents include:

  • Social interaction: Provides a moment of one-on-one contact with a friendly volunteer, which can combat loneliness.
  • Empowerment: Giving residents a choice of what they receive offers them a sense of control.
  • Variety and stimulation: It can break up the monotony of the day and introduce new activities.
  • Enhanced well-being: The treats and gifts, however small, can create a burst of positive emotion.

Connect Class

Do you have questions about Jesus, faith, baptism, church membership or our overall vision for Worthington Christian Church?

If so, we encourage you to attend our Connect Class on Sunday, January 11 at 9:00 AM in rm. 132. This class is PERFECT for someone new (or mostly new) to Worthington Christian Church. Led by Outreach Minister Jay Scott, this class will offer a relaxed atmosphere for honest questions and discussion.

Please let us know if you plan on joining us!

Winter Coat Drive

Winter is still a few weeks away, so now is a great time to clean out your coat closet and see what items you have that may deserve a new home!

From now until the end of the year, we're collecting new and gently used adult winter coats, hats, and gloves for the Columbus Dream Center. Adult sizes requested.

Please drop off your donation in the marked bin near the front doors this Sunday.

Worthington Resource Pantry

We have partnered with the Worthington Resource Pantry since 2020 by collecting non-perishable food donations, toiletries, and various supplies as needed. If you can donate, please check the list below for current pantry needs:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Chicken or Tuna
  • Cereal
  • Rice (in 1lb. bags)
  • Diapers (sizes 2 and up)
  • Personal Hygiene items (maxi pads, tampons, shampoo, body wash, etc.)

NOTE: The WRP also accepts donations of dog and cat food.

Remember, you can drop off your donations at any time! A blue donation bin is available at each of the church's entrances, and we regularly empty the bins to make room for additional items.
